NYKRA is a narrative platformer pixelart game with puzzle and RPG mechanics set in an ever collapsing reality. You travel via a being named Keu through 7 different planets, unraveling the complex mess of reality ahead of you. But as you read through the alien literature, discover archaic long lost ruins, and delve your thoughts into the unfamiliar languages of the galaxy, you start to realise the ‘dark virus’ people fear might not be what you expect.
The game was developed by one person, EDG, over the span of 8 years, all while learning how to make games at the same time. There were a few unfortunate consequences of this, but it has made NYKRA quite a unique experience. EDG has always been more of just a designer at heart, so learning how to program and developing an entire game was a colossal challenge.
But NYKRA is here, after all these years of development and redesigns.

This game is fantastic. It takes a second to get used to it, but it is a binge worthy play. I wouldn't watch too many trailers, etc, more of a binge experience.

An absolutely amazingly well designed game! I've only just started and I love the look of it, the motion, the story, and most of all the damn good messages and quotes along the way. This game makes you feel good, think deeper, and wanted to explore the planets you come across to see just how much you can find. It's a beautiful game and I cannot wait for the full release!

The game is "wonky" and the menus are a nighmare (you get used to it eventually), it only crashed once but loading saves didn't work.
But if you like stories entirely comprised of lore, or love characters that refuse to explain more than one specific thing that is irrelevant to whatever they just ordered you to do then this is the game for you.
Definitly don't expect a platformer tho, it's more of a walking sim with lite puzzles and insanely lite platforming.

The game is cool, but unfortunately, it is currently unplayable. An incomplete system of game settings, a broken save system, and a lack of localization, which can still be understood.
Fascinating surroundings and intriguing entourage. I hope that someday the game will be finished and I will be able to finish it with pleasure.

Goodness Gracious... That was amazing.
Everything about this game was awesome, the art, the story, and the general vibe.
Play this game right now.
It took me like 2 and a half hours to beat this game, it was great.

One very important point. It's a free game. It looks great and it's easy to see how much energy and effort went into this passion project. And I appreciate that. I've been enjoying this pleasant gem of a game so far. I guess I would be willing to pay actual money for this, but the game being free maxes it an extra treat.
Also, it's very much a story driven platformer. I haven't got far so far (and the game crashed on me), but it's fairly linear with hints of non-linear exploration. It has the usual perks of science fiction narrative platformers. A vibrant and alien setting, slightly iffy controls and cool soundtrack.
