NUI is a game about farewell, a minimalistic puzzle-platformer where a mysterious character carries a sword deeply tied to him.
The sword must be taken to the end of the cave, while the sword limits the character movements, it can also be used as a powerful weapon. However, due to the bond with the sword distancing too much from it will damage you…
- A small puzzle-platformer with a minimalistic and touching story about farewell.
- Discover the way to carry your sword to the end of each screen
- Explore an ancient cave with 50 levels that mix platforming skills and puzzles
- More than 15 secrets scattered through the cave to be found
- Small Game: Main game can be completed in less than 1 hour
NUI is a small passion project made in our free time, for that reason, it is meant to be a short and fun experience.

I'd recommend it. It's like $2.50 at the moment, and I got 40 minutes of charming puzzle platforming out of it. There are collectables to go get that would presumably open up a different ending, and i might go back for them later, but i feel i got my moneys worth.I have a couple gripes, the analog sword aiming is a little fiddly, sometimes your sword will just materialize to the left of a portal, and sometimes you have to jump on the first frame of exiting a portal to progress, which i'm not sure was intentional.A lot of the rooms seem to have multiple solutions that don't feel intentional, but honestly it just makes you feel clever for doing it faster than intended.Ultimately, a short, but sweet puzzle platformer with a fun aesthetic and pleasant ambiance. Give it a go.-----ps, to the devs, on the final room, i 'beat' it like 3 times but kept getting reset to the start of the room because i was dead during the final sword throw. It's weird to hear what is obviously the big climax happening while i'm in the death screen, only to be sent back? Considering a lot of screens are cleared while you're dead offscreen, while your sword hits the target. Maybe there should be a health drop before the end so that doesn't happen to people.

About $3 CDN full price and definitely worth it. I assume some will complain about the length which I didn't mind at all. Unique concept with just enough challenge to enjoy it without endless grinding which turn me off of some platformers. I wouldn't call it a complaint but the only thing I'd give a shrug to would be the minimalist story given throughout. Don't know if it would have been better to just go at a different angle with it or just get rid of it altogether. Either way, nice little gem here.

Really enjoyable and challenging platformer, it takes some skill to get the sword throws right but when you master it it's worth it. Honestly at the cost it's 100% worth and has a lot of replayability if you like speedruning. Sadly ultrawide makes the game look weird but you can run it windowed so no big deal. The background music is a very good contrast to the challenging nature of the game and helps keep you calm.
Over all easily a 10/10 game for this price

Consistently glitchy and uncomfortable to control, but the single-screen puzzles held my attention well, the minimalist tone delivers, and leaving a 'not-recommended' on a low-review/small-team game would be inappropriate.
