[About NINJA GAIDEN Σ]
In addition to being able to pull off unmatched dazzling techniques with “Ryu Hayabusa”, a young ninja who has inherited the ninja arts of the Hayabusa style, with beautiful stages in a westernized Japan embellished with spirit-world motifs, and more, the game is packed with features that are a must-play for any fan of action games.
■The epic story can easily be enjoyed with “Hero Mode”
When you select the difficulty setting “Hero Mode”, Hero Mode is triggered when your health becomes low. With Hero Mode, you will guard and evade automatically, and can unleash ninpo as much as you want. Even casual action gamers will be able to feel the heroic thrill of escaping a pinch to turn the tables on the enemy and advance the game. Needless to say, difficulty modes that will satisfy hard-core gamers are also included.
[About NINJA GAIDEN Σ2]
Become Ryu Hayabusa, the ninja who inherited the “Dragon Sword”, a legendary blade, and once again experience high-speed ninja action in which you face battles all over the world. The game is also packed with additional features such as “Hero Mode”, a mode in which the player will guard automatically when they are in a pinch.
■In “NINJA RACE”, life or death depends on speed
“NINJA RACE” is a mode in which you must race across the map within the time limit while fighting high-speed battles. In this mode, the number of enemies you defeat in succession is counted as your “CHAIN”, and by stringing together a high chain, your attack power will increase dramatically. Also, you can pick up speed-up and time increasing items along the way, so attacking non-stop, defeating enemies as fast as possible, and gathering items will be essential to your strategy.
■Along with Hayabusa, 3 heroines dazzlingly dash about the battlefield
Heroines from the “NINJA GAIDEN” series, “Ayane”, “Rachel”, and “Momiji” appear as playable characters. With “TAG MISSIONS”, players can select 2 characters from among Hayabusa and the 3 heroines, allowing them to switch between 2 playable characters as they complete their mission.
[About NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge]
The ultimate high-speed ninja action has returned! The game offers both extreme “challenge”, along with an equally extreme “sense of accomplishment”. Experience the series’ most alluring high-speed action.
■In addition to Ryu Hayabusa, Ayane, Kasumi, and Momiji join the battle!
In addition to main character “Ryu Hayabusa”, the 3 female ninjas “Ayane”, “Kasumi”, and “Momiji” can be used as playable characters. And they aren’t limited to just the “Chapter Challenge” story missions – the 3 characters can also be used in “NINJA TRIALS”. Also, “NINJA GAIDEN” series heroine Ayane has a dedicated story.
■Thrilling battles where you must be constantly alert
“Tests of Valor”, a special phase for series fans who want to enjoy battles even further, have been included. In each chapter, there are hidden skulls that serve as gates to “Test of Valor” areas. By stepping foot onto these areas, battles will occur where players must face the fiercest and strongest enemies from the “NINJA GAIDEN” series.
■Upgrading characters adds more replay value!
By collecting hidden “Golden Scarabs”, using “Karma” collected in battles, and more, players can unlock new weapons and ninpo to upgrade their characters. Of course, upgrades you have applied can be carried over for 2nd and successive playthroughs. Among moves that can be unlocked, there are moves that are new to the series, such as “Cicada Surge”, which allows you to dodge any enemy attack, “Meditation”, which allows you to consume your Ki gauge to recover health, and more.

The controls are wrong by default. Go into the options menu, and set the controls to type E to make the game play like every other game in the series.
Aside from that, not much to complain about. It's the same game it was back then. A bit contentious for a Ninja Gaiden game, but still an incredibly fun action game all the same. Losing the multiplayer is a bummer, though.

despite the complete overhaul done to right its wrongs, razors edge will forever be overshadowed by the disastrous status of its roots. which, is an absolute shame! because ng3:re is perhaps the most underappreciated action game from a beloved franchise. it is upright insane how only 15% of people owning the game have finished the "normal" difficulty alone, clearly people are extremely intolerant to give this game another chance, or move beyond the stigma that everyone constantly brings about the inferior version. like, okay, its definitely not as eloquent as the previous titles, it definitely plays into a lot of 7th gen tropes, but, it still stands out from the crowd for the way it implements it into the gameplay, especially when the quick time events are incorporated in such a way that it doesnt feel distracting during the combat definitely reminds me of god of war a lot. the steel on bone mechanic is such a satisfying, gnarly move to pull off during combat as the body splices in half really makes you quiver your feet like a little girl! eeeeek!
anyways, from all the pc ports weve got. this is the best one from the bunch, unfortunately we dont have clan battles, 1v1 and co-op arena because they decided to port these games without the multiplayer included. either way, its very much a serviceable effort for an underappreciated classic. by the way, this game is seriously the most ruthless one out of the trilogy when it comes to its combat, ive never struggled this much in my life, ninja gaiden 2 really comes off easier compared to this! and the way enemies constantly block really makes the game a tough nut to crack. . . dont listen to all the blind hate! give this one a go.

This game is absolutely horrible. While it may seem decent at first with admittedly solid and fun combat, It WILL slowly break you down throughout your playthrough until all you have left is bitterness and frustration towards the game that killed your favorite action series for over a decade. This game is WORSE than DMC2, and you can quote me on that. I hate, hate, hate this game so, so much. Anyway, thumbs up. Pick it up when you can, you'll love it.

If you bought the collection then you might as well play it, but really the most value you'll get is ninja trials or redoing chapters as the other characters. Cool to see Kasumi make a guest appearance though. Main story just feels like a slog and the last boss might actually be the most irritating thing I've ever had the displeasure of doing in a Ninja Gaiden game.

Razor Edge one of the bloodiest slice of katana. Oozes with gore and violence. Its not easy to understand the change of wind. This is different but its not as bad as those crying tears.
Major shift is made in everything. Well at least the game is less of a bs than first one that’s a hard fact. I think this is more fast paced and more forgiving in some way. No more dealing with unfairness. I actually did enjoyed it more than I should have not gonna lie.
You need to get more comfortable to the combat mechanics but there less annoyance and “camera fights”. Hard lock on objects help do more than you could. Bosses well designed and in more fair skill wait. No cheese and bunny humping while trying to mash everything and expect a miracle. Levesl are straight forward and no more figuring out what to do and where to go next. Pure adrenaline and blood.
Burning rage hand is fun mechanic. Very pleasing for ending combat finishers and reaching the satisfaction. Zero complain from me. This is one of the better games for sure. Don’t want to admit it you don’t have to you just failed to understand the game.
Koei Techmo-Team ninja still the best of the best in their combat designs.

One of the best action hack&slash franchises of all time. I personally don't get why people have a bad opinion about this game overall, it has great fast paced skill based combat with multiple weapon types, banger soundtrack, alright story and the additional content added in Razor's Edge is amazing and adds replay value. The only real gripe I had with it is the absolutely horrible final boss, worst I've seen in a very long time. Add to that the fact that this game is hard as hell even on normal and you have a recipe for disaster. Besides that a solid 8/10 experience.

Ryu Hayabusa isn't a sigma in this one, he edged too much and his arm swelled up. He's also sponsored by Razor, bro really fell off.
Momiji/10 - still needs more Momiji.
