NeoSprint developed by Headless Chicken Games and Published by Atari is definitely definitely a keeper, the game capture what was good about the Atari Sprint Games (Champioship Sprint was the most predominant flavor growing up), and for me, this game captured a lot of the things that made that game fun, and seem to add to the story a bit more, several different modes of play add quite a bit a replability into the game, and the charm of the overall polish on this game is enough to keep me coming back for more.

Honestly a very enjoyable game, but if there is ever a NeoSprint 2 (or Super NeoSprint!) there could definitely be some improvements.
For a start, the music and sound design leaves something to be desired, the same 3/4 tracks repeated over and over again, while good tracks, gets samey quickly and doesn't give each track or cup any sense of personality. And the victory song just feels a bit out place.
Secondly, the game feels very easy and the campaign feels short. While there is some challenge in unlocking the final cup, the AI even on Hard difficulty just feels completely dumb at times. the 1-on-1 boss races provide a good variety, there is little personality to the characters who subsequently are instantly forgettable.
That being said, there's lots of added challenge in variety in the user-created courses and the obstacle course mode, that adds a lot of replay value, and it is helped by the fact the controls are tight and each car handles differently, so picking the right car for the course helps.
The graphics are fantastic and the game runs brilliantly, and creating courses is a lot of fun.
What would be nice, would be an online multiplayer in addition to local - playing online on user-generated courses would add a lot of replayability and challenge and would bring the game from good to great.
Another wish would be to actually have an option for the control scheme from Sprint8 from Atari 50 when using a controller where the stick controls the direction of the car! (Although I'm probably the only one who thinks that!)
Overall a very good game that is great for just sinking a couple of hours into of an evening.

As of Build 1.38: This game starts off strong, but things take a turn when you attempt to beat the time trials and obstacle courses. The controls lack the precision needed for achieving gold medals in these challenges, which makes it frustrating. This is disappointing because a few of the achievements and unlockables, including car skins and course-building items, are tied to performing well in the timed portions. Overall, while the game has potential, the control issues and the fact the the hold it back.
Edit: Beating the ghost is not the same as beating the timed levels themselves—while you might succeed in outracing the ghost, you still need to meet the strict time requirements of the level for a gold medal.

Game is fun and challenging. Have a ton of items to unlock. Gameplay is simple and the physics can help you or put you on the last position (you will need abilities and a little of luck). I really appreciate that controls are very customizable. You will enjoy the game.

Great game to be enjoyed with friends, can be really challenging, but fun when you master it.

NeoSprint revives the classic "Sprint" series with a fresh, modern twist. Atari really nailed it with this arcade racer. It’s easy to pick up but tough to master, offering something for both casual and competitive players, whether solo or in multiplayer.
The graphics are bright and colorful, instantly capturing that old-school arcade feel. The isometric view works great for racing, and if you want variety, you can switch between the classic top-down or a closer view for a different experience.
The controls are tight and responsive, just like an arcade racer should be. They’re simple to learn but take skill to perfect, especially when it comes to drifting and drafting. Every race is fast-paced and satisfying, with plenty of "just one more race" moments.
The track-building feature is where NeoSprint really shines. You can design custom tracks with ramps, jumps, and scenic elements across four biomes: forest, desert, winter, and city. However, the editor can feel a bit finicky at times, especially when trying to place elements precisely. Still, when it clicks, it’s a lot of fun.
There are nine different cars to choose from, each with its own unique handling, speed, and acceleration. You can customize them with various colors and Atari-themed decals, adding a nice personal touch.
For solo players, Campaign Mode offers a solid challenge. You race against eight AI opponents through multiple Cups, and the difficulty ramps up over time. Unlockable car skins and decorations keep you motivated to push through. There are also alternate modes like Grand Prix, Obstacle Courses, and Time Trials, all of which add extra replay value.
Multiplayer is where NeoSprint goes all out. Racing against up to seven other players on one screen is chaotic, fast, and a ton of fun. The ability to share and rate custom-built tracks with the community ensures that there’s always something new to try, giving the game almost endless replayability.
The track-building tools can be a bit frustrating, but overall, NeoSprint is a great success. Atari has brought a classic series back to life while keeping its nostalgic charm intact. It runs smoothly on PC and is also available on consoles, so it’s accessible to everyone.
If you’re a fan of old-school arcade racers or just looking for a fun racing game with a bit of depth, NeoSprint is a great pick. It’s an easy 8.5/10 for me.
