“Nelson and the Magic Cauldron: The Journey” is a classic point & click adventure, with lots of puzzles and funny dialogues.
In his new adventure, Nelson is invited to a competition where all participants are supposed to prepare magic potions.
Unfortunately, he is already late to make the necessary preparations, but his uncle Sid had the saving idea … a trip with an airship.
In this game there are again a lot of crazy characters who confront Nelson with almost unsolvable tasks. But of course everything with a lot of humor.

Nelson and the Magic Cauldron: The Journey is a very short and family friendly game. While the game is simple, it is truly simple to miss a key item at times which in turn makes you run in circle. The over all feel is good and the DEV did a great job. My only gripe with the game, is the price point. I think it is rather high and only recommend this game when on sale at a great reduction. Remember the game does not have much replay value for the buck and is about a 60 to 90 minute game play. Enjoy

Nelson and the Magic Cauldron: The Journey is a nice point and click starter game with humorous lines, relaxing music and nicely drawn art. The game has 4 chapters the first one being the longest. I really enjoyed the last chapter. Veterans will probably finish the game in 60-90s minutes while occasional point and click gamers like me will take around 2 hours.
The developers seemed to have hired many bilingual German and English voice actors. I thought the German accent was charming and funny. More importantly all the written text is voiced. Sometimes the voice acting is a bit too loud but is good in general. Overall i would recommend buying the game for occasional gamers but veterans might find it too simple.

Solid, straightforward, but short point-and-click adventure.
As I understand, this game is the sequel to “Nelson and the Magic Cauldron” (without The Journey) which I unfortunately skipped, so the beginning was a bit confusing and some story parts flew over my head. Playing in order seems necessary, as there is little to no recap given here.
The ‘puzzles’ aren’t exactly complex, so if you’re looking for a challenge, this might not be the adventure for you. This one’s more to unwind, with pretty clear solutions and little frustration.
There is one odd (and unintentional -I would assume-) misdirection right at the start of the game though (minor spoiler):
In the first scene, a character tells you that a recipe / list of ingredients is found in the castle. There is no list - whatsoever. By the time you can enter the castle, you will probably have most of the ingredients already. Once you've found every ingredient (it’s a little unclear), speak to the first character again to resume the game.
You can fast-click through conversations (which is always a lifesaver when you have looping dialogue) and fast-travel via the map. I would have wished for the possibility to also just walk faster, but there is no option to do so, as far as I know.
The voice acting is amateurish, but doesn’t distract too much imo ( I played in German, so I can’t judge the English version).
One big flaw for me is the font choice however. It’s frankly just really bad. It was annoying to read and I can’t imagine how bad it would be for people who are visually impaired in any way.
The humor didn’t hit for me either, it’s a bit juvenile. If you watch the trailer, you can pretty much guess the tone of the game, so you’ll see if it’s your cup of tea.
You can also see the art style. And since art is subjective, I won’t comment too much on this. You can easily find the interactive objects and I thought the switch-up in the final chapter was pretty neat.
tl;dr overall the game is fine.
It was made by a single developer with little budget (kickstarted), which is quite a feat.
So manage your expectations accordingly. (:

I like the music and the really lame jokes.
The story follows on from the previous game but having not played it, I didn't really know what was going on.
I am super happy that there is voice acting but the actor lack novelty. They all sound the same, despite being played by different people.
Overall, this is pretty good.

Fun little point & click adventure.
Really not bad for an one person indie developer!

Interesting little game, reminds me of Deponia a little.
Not bad for a indie game

Nice indie game, I haven't played point and click in a long time and it reminded me a bit of the monkey island series.
