Just beat the game with one of my friends as a duo,
took 8 hours,
It is 3am,
and I've never had a better gaming experience,
The last 8 hours was easily better than any woman I've been with,
it saddens me there's not more content...
If anyone sees this and wants someone to help them complete the game,
Let me know, and we'll play,
No matter how long this is up feel free to contact me for a game of Necropolis!
(If you're considering the game, and don't think you'll love it, buy it on a sale,
the only disappointing thing is the lack of players, so add me!)

8 years later and there still isn't another game like this.
I bought this on Xbox on Launch day (which is where most of my hours are), and nothing out there really satisfies the itch this game creates. A challenging game with souls combat in a 3D, 3rd person, procedurally generated dungeon-crawler? Variety of spells (good and bad), weapons, and perks (Codexes). Some cool gear options and tons of shaders to unlock. Cool polygonal art style. Decent enemy variety. Humor sprinkled everywhere. Dungeons feel like dungeons with traps and hidden things.
This gem has shown its age, but is still a gem nontheless.

beware before buying that this game is finished and is no longer being updated. it was abandoned, so you are getting a product that may have bugs and what not that will not be resolved. however, this game can be found very cheap and often goes on sale for a good price. the combat is pretty fun, the bosses are decent and the exploration and art style is pretty solid. i only experienced minor bugs so i didnt have any issues with the game personally and im sure you can probably get more enjoyment out of this game with some buddies. the elements/mechanics in the game are decent and it ran pretty well. it's not a very long game though, as i almost hit 9 hours and scoured and found everything and killed everything i could. i will recommend this game on sale for souls/roguelike fans who want something cheap to have some laughs on and grind for a day or two. overall, it's decent and worth the sale prices and key prices it gets listed for.

If you can catch this game on sale, and have a friend or two to play it with I do highly recommend it.
Beautiful stylized world, fun weapons and play styles, game-play that is challenging without being unfair.
The only downside is a lot of mechanics and stories are left unfinished. This game has been abandoned.
Still good fun and worth a smaller price, especially if you enjoy souls-like style combat.

I love this game.
Feels really sad when finished it and there isn't more to play.
I'm still waiting for the 2.
Give me more please.

I love this game. I was part of the QA team for it many, many years ago and after all this time, having worked on countless other games, this one has stuck with me and I always felt like it was special. I think it's a shame it isn't more well known and stopped being updated shortly after release.
The creative director for the game "Dennis Detwiller" had "Currently creating my opus NECROPOLIS" on his LinkedIn but left the company after it released. Probably because it was his passion project but the company that owns it didn't see it make enough money right away to keep developing it. I doubt it'll ever be picked back up or get a sequel or anything. That being said, if you see it on sale, might as well give it a try and imagine what it could've been with a few years of updates.

Even though it's abandoned, it has enough content to be one of my favourite roguelikes ever. Buy it on a discount though
