The base game is fine, though without the online features the game really has like 30 hours worth of gameplay.

This is going to function as my review of every 2k game since I have played many of them and they are mostly the same. When this franchise began, it completely revolutionized not only basketball games, but sports games in general. The first 2k I played was 2k11 not because I really liked NBA basketball, but because I heard it was a really good video game. It was instant love. It felt like I was a professional athlete, with the most intuitive and perfect environment I had ever experienced in a sports game. It took my fandom of basketball to the next level and to this day, it's really the only sport I care about. But more than that, 2k is my ultimate comfort game. I've put thousands of hours into them collectively, from my career, to online, to just doing random play nows. If I don't know what to do or want to relax as easily as possible, I play 2k. Now we could get into how the franchise has changed over time and even I, a super fan, recognize it has gotten worse over time, but I still fundamentally feel it is as good a basketball game as one could exist, and the tiny things around it may change but that core experience doesn't. I do not think your enjoyment of this game is dependent on your love of basketball or even sports- it is perfectly executed and for anyone just diving in, it will likely become a comfort game for you too. All hail the king. 10/10

Very good and spectacular game made by 2k. It is so realisitic and very exciting to play even for a fan that isn't quite into basketball. The game is harder than football though.

Its a real fun game that really gets the concept of basketball i just came from practice and this is the best way to witness NBA players moves and habits.

Still one of the best 2ks made. The only issue is modding on the steam deck for this game is virtually impossible. NO My career since its linked to online play.
