Such a beautifull game that delves into the themes of World War II, getting to see this through the eyes of two children helps giving a sense of warm to the game and also makes you feel more connected to the characters, making you worry about their well-being. The game felt both educational and emotionally impactful.
As you play the game, you get engaged wanting to know more about what's going to happen in this story.
The animation style is charming and adds a light hearted touch to the heavy subject portrait in the game.
Just to add something, the game puzzles felt quite hard sometimes, occasionally requiring tutorials or help from Google. This can be frustrating at times, but one you get over those specific puzzles/games, everything continue smoothly.

Small. Good. Easy. A little junky controls on keyboard but nothing really grievous .

A project that is both adorable and heartbreaking—thank you for every minute spent on its creation. I had an amazing time playing it.

This is a charming, heartwarming adventure game. It is clearly an allegory for a couple of kids surviving WW2, but it reframes the baddies as robots to avoid any excessively upsetting imagery. Some of the stealth parts are a little finicky, but otherwise it is a smooth experience start to finish. Hearing Patrick Stewart as narrator was quite a pleasant surprise. This game takes about five hours for a single playthrough and the achievements are pretty doable.

This is a very cute game, first and foremost, despite the themes being incredibly dark. But it also contains beautiful moments showing that discrimination is learned and not inherent in children.
During the beginning of the story, I had this odd sense that it was supposed to be a very obvious metaphor for something. It took me an embarrassing amount of time to realise what it was referencing.
To quote an achievement "Day to remember - play the game on September 1st". We can all learn from history, and we absolutely need to to avoid another tragedy like this one.

Quest/adventure part of the game is undoubtedly 10/10:
Setting is an alternate version of Poland during World War II turned into kids-friendly steampunk fairytale. The narrative might seem simple on the surface, but has emotional depth and strongly resonates;
Music is gorgeous and complements the atmosphere perfectly;
Interesting and unusual visual style: mostly noire/black-and-white with accented elements painted in red.
But there is a fly in the ointment: the gameplay is platformer/quest hybrid, and platformer part is quite annoying. Specifically, some of side scroller/side shooter/stealth mini-games may challenge reaction speed. To make it worse, save checkpoints are not always well-placed: sometimes on failure you need to replay entire chapter from the beginning. This contrasts with game puzzles, which are very easy (and sometimes too easy).
That said, the game is hidden gem and deserve more acclaim. To give an example, it is very similar to Valiant Hearts: The Great War , but has 30 times less reviews (!).

A very beautiful and nice game, short, but with a history behind so dark, I loved it :))
