I am giving this game a thumbs up, but read the reviews first, it was a great game back in the day.
This could have been one of the best post apocalyptic games out there, it is such a great shame that the Devs have abandoned it, if this game was still up-dated I would play it again, I can`t believe this game is still for sale on Steam in 2025.
If another company took control of this game and brought it back to life I would 100% play it again.

This is the first game that I really fell inlove with. I know that at the time many gamers had alot of negativity to say about it and allthough there is still alot to be done to it, I can´t stop playing this game. It is nostalgic to me at this piont and I still find my self coming back to it. On my new Steam account I have played only 45 hours, but on my last account lot more than that. I wished the devs would re visit it one day. But, I will still play it anyways.

sad game has died, but was amazing hard core survival at its best, pvp exist but not the focus, as this game really is punishing to live in alone with weather/starvation/radiation and very leathal mutants at every turn. also looked great considering its running on cryengine. would love someone to pick this up and restart development , make a miscreated 2.

That was a good game, nice ambience and concept. Sad they stopped to make content for it and that the servers are dead.

Love this game to this day - idk what drama happened to where the devs left it but this is so fun to play

This game is one of my Favorite Dark survival games by far and had an incredible amount of potential for further development but had very little player base or activity and sadly like many games with so much potential has died

Braving the Ruins of a World Gone Wrong
Miscreated is a gritty, atmospheric survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world where danger lurks around every corner — from hostile players and mutated creatures to nature itself. Built on CryEngine, it delivers an open-world experience that prizes realism, tension, and the kind of emergent storytelling only sandbox survival games can offer. While not perfect, its strongest supporters on Steam praise it as one of the most immersive and underrated entries in the genre.
What Miscreated Does Best
From the moment you spawn in its ravaged world, Miscreated sets a mood. The weather system — complete with dynamic storms, fog, and day-night cycles — creates a sense of unpredictability that enhances every moment. You’ll often find yourself marveling at the landscape one minute, then scrambling for shelter the next as a thunderstorm rolls in or night brings with it far more than just darkness.
What fans love most is the hardcore approach to survival. There are no handouts here — every item must be earned, every encounter measured. Hunger, thirst, temperature, and disease are more than just background stats; they’re part of the game’s core tension. Gear is scarce, and the thrill of looting a remote cabin or abandoned factory never gets old.
The PvP and PvE dynamics are well-balanced in that uneasy way survival games should be. Players can be your worst enemy or your greatest ally, and trust is a rare commodity. Add in mutant AI enemies and roaming wildlife, and every journey feels like a gamble.
Crafting and base-building also play key roles. Constructing a home in the wilderness or fortifying a structure with friends gives a tangible sense of progress — and something worth defending. Vehicles, which are rare and highly valued, add even more strategy as you scavenge for parts and fuel.
Where Miscreated Stumbles
Despite its strong foundations, Miscreated has had its share of growing pains. Development has been slower than some players hoped, and while the game is technically out of Early Access, it can still feel like a work in progress. Bugs and performance hiccups are not uncommon — clipping issues, server desyncs, or frustrating item glitches can break immersion at times.
The learning curve is steep, and without clear direction, new players may feel overwhelmed. There’s minimal handholding, which can be both a blessing and a curse depending on your tolerance for trial-and-error gameplay.
Additionally, while the world is vast and detailed, some areas feel underutilized, and player population varies by server. In some cases, the experience can feel too lonely if you're not actively seeking multiplayer interaction.
Final Verdict
Miscreated isn’t trying to be a flashy, fast-paced shooter — it’s a slow-burn survival sandbox that rewards patience, teamwork, and situational awareness. For players who crave immersion, tension, and the satisfaction of surviving against the odds, it hits the mark in a way few other games do. Its loyal fanbase isn’t just nostalgic — they’re passionate for a reason.
Final Rating: 7.9 / 10
A moody, unforgiving survival sim that shines in its atmosphere and realism, Miscreated is a rough gem for dedicated players, held back only by its polish and pacing issues.
