The story begins with the narrator talking about the Order of the Stone: Gabriel the Warrior, Ellegaard the Redstone Engineer, Magnus the Rogue, and Soren the Architect. The Order manage to defeat the Ender Dragon and slipped away into legend. In the present, Jesse, Olivia, Axel, and Jesse's pet pig, Reuben, are preparing for the Endercon Building Competition, and they decide on which mob to make. After gathering the supplies, they head to the competition and decide on a team name. A rival team, The Ocelots, vows to win the competition again, calling Jesse's team "The Order of the Losers". Nonetheless, Jesse's team completes their build, drawing attention from judges and other builders. Aiden, a member of the Ocelots, intentionally spills lava on Reuben's costume, setting it on fire with Reuben running off into the woods. Jesse then decides to either let his / her friends stay and protect the build, or go on with Jesse and find Reuben.

a really cool game series, with a dynamic story. i had a lot fun laying it, and i still play it now and then. it's a shame, you don't get the game in stores anymore

Ich war ehrlich skeptisch, als ich gehört habe, dass es ein Story-Spiel zu Minecraft geben soll. Ein narratives Abenteuer… in einem Bauklötzchen-Universum? Aber Telltale hat’s tatsächlich geschafft, das Konzept überraschend gut umzusetzen.
Das Spiel holt genau das aus der Minecraft-Welt raus, was man beim normalen Spielen oft übersieht: Charaktere, Entscheidungen und echte Geschichten. Statt nur Blöcke zu stapeln, trifft man hier auf Freundschaft, Mut, Verrat und jede Menge charmanten Humor. Die Figuren – allen voran Jesse und die Gang – wachsen einem schnell ans Herz. Selbst klassische Minecraft-Elemente wie Creeper, Redstone und der Enderdrache wirken plötzlich emotional aufgeladen.
Klar, es ist kein Hardcore-Game. Wer Action oder offene Welten erwartet, ist hier falsch. Aber wer Spaß an interaktiven Geschichten hat und Minecraft liebt, bekommt eine richtig gut gemachte Mischung: tolle Sprecher, stimmungsvolle Musik und eine Story, die von Folge zu Folge fesselnder wird.
Besonders stark: die Entscheidungsfreiheit. Man merkt, dass die Wahlmöglichkeiten echte Konsequenzen haben – nicht immer riesig, aber genug, um einen beim nächsten Durchlauf anders entscheiden zu lassen.
Fazit: Minecraft: Story Mode ist kein bloßes Spin-off, sondern eine liebevolle Erweiterung des Minecraft-Universums – mit Herz, Witz und überraschend viel Tiefe.
