Traveling the galaxy, hunting down evil. This is the life of Mighty Goose. One of the galaxy’s most credited bounty hunters!
At the core Mighty Goose is a tight side scrolling run & gun shooter that will test your skill, timing, reflexes. Building upon that solid arcade base, the game adds a ton of crazy weapons, warmachines, upgrades and secrets.
Assume the role of Mighty Goose and bring the fight to the Void King. This galaxy conquering monarch commands a vast army of minions and mechanised monsters. Dealing with these baddies means traveling to distant worlds and facing all kinds of dangers. But not to worry, this is no problem for the legendary Mighty Goose!
- Fast-paced run-and-gun experience with tight controls.
- Battle against screen filling bosses that will test your skill, timing, and dodging
- Customize your playing style using a combination of upgrade chips, secondary weapons and assist characters.
- Pilot devastating war-machine vehicles to decimate large groups of enemies.
- Beautifully crafted vibrant pixel art worlds, vehicles and characters.
- An amazing soundtrack featuring crunchy synth-rock and funky jazz-fusion melodies. Composed by Dominic Ninmark (Moonrider, Blazing Chrome, Gravity Circuit).

This game is very fun and charming although it lacks the depth, polish, and level design of classics like Blazing Chrome and Huntdown. There are about 5 total guns, a few companions, abilities, and a couple vehicles but nothing really changes the style of play. Also, there are a few rough spots with loading and the level design is pretty basic. With that being said, Mighty Goose is just a fun, chaotic run-n-gun that I enjoyed for it's entire duration.

Best Metal Slug like I played so far on steam! Had a lot of fun playing it, very charming!.
If people know other metal slug games on steam I can play, I left the comments open.

I bought this game as a meme but I ended up genuinely enjoying it.
Think Metal Slug but your character is a bounty hunting goose. You make your way to the end of the level, shooting enemies using a small pool of guns and some vehicles. Some stages have a boss fight at the end each with their own quirk to it. Progressing in the story unlocks abilities and companions to help you in battle. Very charming art style and honestly great soundtrack.
Difficulty wise, I found it well balanced, it feels hard at first but it's just right when you get the hang of it. I ended up clearing all levels with S rating before finding out about God mode and while it took some attempts it was still fun. It's not very long but there is a bonus level and a NG+ mode if you want to keep going.
To list some flaws: the colour of enemy bullets was unfortunate, in the chaos that are most scenes, it's so easy to mistake their shots for your own or just miss them entirely. Some levels also have some secrets which is very cool, but they're a little too secret. There is no chance I would have found them on my own, so that probably could have been improved.
If a sequel is in the works, I'd definitely pick it up. To make it even better, it I'd add a couple more vehicles, make it a little longer and expand on the co-op aspect. It would be pretty fun as a couch co-op experience if both players get their own goose.

Mighty Goose is a super fun time, with stylish action, beautiful visuals, and a bangin' soundtrack.
Blastmode has crafted a great art style in this game that feels timeless, and there is a ton of fantastic and fun detail to the various worlds and characters. The colours are super vibrant and makes every location feel super exciting to blast through. There's some great touches of visual humour throughout, as well as a bunch of straight up badass set pieces and boss battles throughout. No shortage of cool visual vibes here!
The gameplay is fast and smooth, and I enjoy the various weapons you can collect in the levels to change up combat (though I very much favour the shotgun any chance I can get it). There are a bunch of cool upgrades and augments you can equip between missions which give gamplay some extra variety and spice. The roll is particularly fun to play with as you can bounce all over the place. The way the missions are structured also makes this a great "pick up and play" title, play a mission here and there or however long you feel which I appreciate given how busy life can be.
The soundtrack is super fun and gets me pumped, sometimes the main theme still gets in my head. Each level has multiple versions of the songs which I found super cool (reminded me a bit of how it was implemented in Perfect Dark on N64). From a slower more "infiltration" style jam to full force synth rock power, there's always something there to get you in the mood to blast on through.
Definitely a worthwhile game to pick up for some great arcade style fun. I recommend!

Fun run and gun. If you want some more metal slug this is a great place to go.

Look. You get to play a goose in a power armor suit that gets to occasionally drive a tank, can shoot machine guns and rocket launchers and occasionally harnesses his inner Canadian and destroys all. This game is WAY more fun and WAY more hillarious than it ought to be. A little easy for me, I still enjoyed the game thoroughly. Polished, well done, fun as hell.

No nonsense runnin' and gunnin'.. doesn't get much better. Very satisfying, wishing there was more game is my only complaint. HONK.
