This game is a bite-sized experience (~40 minutes). Perfect for your coffee break!
In tonight’s episode of Midnight Scenes, we follow Oliver and Tina, two siblings facing some unusual situations in their quest to find their nanny, who disappeared in the middle of the night. Turn off the lights and enter the mysterious world of Midnight Scenes: The Nanny.
This is the third in a series of short horror tales with adventure elements by Octavi Navarro, creator of the critically acclaimed games The Supper and The Librarian, and artist on games like Thimbleweed Park and Photographs.
- Enjoy this exciting and intense tale through the eyes of Oliver, an eight-year-old kid.
- Story-driven point-and-click horror experience.
- Explore, interact with your surroundings… and be very afraid!
- Colorful pixel art based on ’80s aesthetics, inspired by horror and mystery classics like The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits.
- Eerie soundtrack.
- Atmospheric sound effects.

My total playtime is 66 minutes and I got 6 trophies, so, that's kinda creepy.
This is the third installment of Octavi Navarro's Midnight Scenes and is also the first departure from black & white into a kind of technicolor palette.
These get a little longer and more developed as the series continues and although you still have to work your imagination to get past the campiness/corniness, i think they've been fun little Halloween aperitifs.
My biggest criticism is still that I think the pricing structure and/or all the episodes should be sold as one compilation. Even on 25% sale I don't feel like I'm getting an equal amount of substance.
It's nice to see the developer continue with this idea though and I imagine they will only improve with more time and experience. I'm curious to see where the last two episodes go.
Still 3/5 but getting better

Midnight Scenes: The Nanny is a delightful addition to the Midnight Scenes series, delivering another dose of captivating storytelling and atmospheric gameplay. As a fan of the series, I found this installment to be a perfect blend of mystery, suspense, and clever puzzles that kept me hooked from start to finish.
One of the standout features of Midnight Scenes: The Nanny is its engrossing narrative. From the moment I stepped into the shoes of the protagonist, I was drawn into a world of intrigue and uncertainty, where nothing is quite as it seems. The story unfolds with a perfect balance of tension and intrigue, keeping me guessing until the very end.
But what truly sets Midnight Scenes: The Nanny apart is its unique atmosphere. The game's pixel art style and haunting soundtrack create a sense of unease that permeates every scene, adding an extra layer of immersion to the experience. From dimly lit hallways to eerie encounters with supernatural forces, every moment is filled with a palpable sense of dread and excitement.
Of course, no Midnight Scenes game would be complete without its clever puzzles, and The Nanny delivers in spades. From deciphering cryptic clues to unraveling the mysteries of the mansion, every puzzle is a satisfying challenge that rewards careful observation and logical thinking.
In conclusion, Midnight Scenes: The Nanny is a must-play for fans of mystery and adventure games. With its engrossing storyline, atmospheric visuals, and clever puzzles, it's a captivating experience from start to finish. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the series, I highly recommend giving The Nanny a try. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

If I were to tell someone where to start with the Midnight Scenes games I think it would be with The Nanny. It’s still short and simple like the prior entries but it’s probably the first game in the series where the dialog starts to really become a strength. This developer has never had an issue with building an unsettling atmosphere, but there is more depth to the characters and it makes every hair raising moment more impactful. If are looking for something scary to play this Halloween season, the Midnight Scenes games come highly recommended from me.

10/10, my favorite of the collection. Interesting twists and uses of the perspective/style, creepy atmosphere from start to finish... Great short horror movie.

At first I was worried when I saw the series switched from black and white to color, and the tone switch from old-school Twilight Zone to something more modern. But I think this one was the best so far, a few creepy moments, a good weird horror storyline without much explanation.

A short horror game that had a pretty cool story. It didn't have a lot of puzzles or anything, it was definitely a story out of The twilight zone that was more interactive than anything. You can get all of the achievements pretty easily if you wanted to.

I have played 4 of the Midnight Scenes games, I have enjoyed them all, but this is easily my favorite.
The pacing is top notch, music and art great, and there are some legitimate scares here too.
If you want a quick game to play through for October (or anytime) this is the perfect one to go to!
