Even though the game can be beaten in 30 minutes this game is still an absolute banger, still some of the best pixel art in gaming history and only gets better with each new entry.

So, I had a lot of fun with Metal Slug... The first one is amazing
Like, it starts with Marco, even without a character selection screen.
He shoots the soldiers and frees the prisoners.
You can beat it in less than 30 minutes if you're good at this game without getting shot, without having to continue and most importantly: PERFECT NO DAMAGE!!!
The story is quite comical but it's fun!
I recommend it for those who play alone or in co-op like in those golden days of arcades in the 1990s and 2000s!

ever since I was a kid I used to 4buse those arcade machines no matter the country I was in and my favorite arcade game was indeed METAL SLUG. thank you for everything.

Short and sweet - I played Metal Slug for the first time and really enjoyed it. It's a short but fun burst of action. Very tough so I was thankful of the endless continues.

Metal Slug is a fun old-school shooter that still holds up. The art is great, the action is nonstop, and it’s a great start in the series. It’s short, but perfect if you just want to jump in and blow stuff up.

This version gets the job done well enough, no glaring issues that I'd noticed or had with it, I'd have just really loved to see the original rom and Neo Geo BIOS included as separate files somewhere inside the game's install folder for use in emulators. Not sure why that isn't a thing to be honest.
