Players assume control of Raiden, a katana-wielding cyborg. He is initially playable in his "Standard Body" form, which resembles the body used by Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 4, but with a more natural looking face. The player can alter Raiden's appearance through alternative skins. Unlike previous titles in the Metal Gear series, where players try not to be noticed by enemies, Rising is action oriented, focusing on sword fighting and a sophisticated cutting system to fight and defeat enemies. Although Raiden's main weapon is his high-frequency blade, Raiden can wield weapons such as a dagger or a rocket launcher. Other subweapons can only be obtained after defeating the game's bosses. The game's cutting system allows players to engage in melee combat, as well as to precisely slash enemies and objects at will along a geometrical plane using the "free slicing" Blade Mode. Virtually any object in the game can be cut, including vehicles and enemies, though elements of the environment were intentionally limited to structures such as pillars and walls to better facilitate the game.

Als jugendlicher gezockt. Konnte damals nicht genug vom Kampfsystem bekommen. Da ich nie einen anderen Metal Gear Teil gespielt habe außer dem ersten hatte ich auch keine Erwartungen an Spielmechaniken oder Story alles war neu. Bis heute zähle ich die Bosskämpfe unter anderen zu den besten hack and Slay Bossen die ich bisher so erlebt habe. Kombiniert mit einem wirklich geilen Blocksystem nachdem dir save die finger weh tun und einer over the top Action ist das Game ein geiles Erlebnis für alle Fans von Titeln wie Devil may cry, Bayonetta, God of War oder Darksiders mit ein wenig mehr Schwerpunkt auf Schwert basierte 1 vs 1 kämpfe. Das sehr reaktive und vielseitige Kampfsystem ist in meinen Augen (wahrscheinlich der Tatsache zu schulden das ich sehr viel Zeit in diesem Spiel gelassen habe) eines der besten 1 gegen 1 Systeme im PVE. Geiles Spielerlebniss. Ich hätte gerne einen weiteren Teil gehabt aber das würde die Fans der wirklichen Metal Gear Reihe wahrscheinlich nicht überleben.

Its and endless Meme fountain, has PEAK Soundtracks, and 10/10 Gameplay too.

From a great soundtrack to great memes to hardening in response to physical trauma, this game has it all.
I really just wish it had more missions or even better a sequel. Still one of my favourite games tho.
