Ever worked hundreds of meters beneath the earth, bent down in dark, narrow shafts, hitting coal out of the walls? Probably not. Now you can: The WDR, Germany’s largest public broadcaster, presents the interactive VR experience “Meet the Miner – WDR VR Bergwerk”. With an Oculus Rift, users can experience how dangerous and grueling life of a miner was 100 years ago – feeling what it was like racing down hundreds of meters into the earth in a shaky elevator and mining coal with a virtual pickaxe. Something you will never be able to do in real life again. It is the highlight of a VR/360° project focussing on a dying tradition – the last German coal mines will be shut down at the end of 2018.

Trop court. Je résume:
Je descends dans la mine de charbon 2 minutes.
Je stabilise un poteau de soutien 30sec.
Je casse du charbon avec une pioche 30sec.
Je jette un peu de charbon avec la pelle dans le wagon 30sec.
La flamme de ma lampe vire au bleu et c'est l'explosion 5sec.
Je me réveille et je vois mon copain puis c'est le blanc complet 5sec.
FIN !
Côté graphismes c'est bien fait mais j'aurais souhaité une immersion un peu plus longue avec une explication comme dans une visite guidé. Ici c'est loupé. Puisque c'est gratuit et que les graphismes sont bien faits je vais donner une bonne note.
