Malediction is a third-person puzzle/platformer that gives you the ability to control space and time! Play as Morgan, an impulsive, yet curious, wizard whose experiments often get him into trouble. This time, a cloning spell has backfired and his duplicates have run off with most of his magic. You must now chase them through three enchanted levels of a warped, Renaissance-inspired city. Manipulate your environment with telekinesis and time stop/reversal powers to overcome obstacles put before you by the dastardly clones. When you catch up to them, defeat them in battle to regain your powers. Developed by Desert Beagle Studios as an 8-month long student project.

Review: I am so impressed with the aesthetics of the game, the colors and the way it's designed is so beautifully done!
The dialogue is believable and well acted...as well as well written.
The game play feels very smooth and crisp!
Youtube Video:
The puzzles are to the point and some are like playing against bosses, you have to figure out ways of defeating the bosses using your big boy brain.
Game could be sold for ten bones and I would have still bought it, real talk.
A lot of fun and visually pleasing to the eyes, sounds are great, music is there, game play and content are there, and did I mention...it's free!
Good job to the devs!

This game is very impressive and is better than most free games or ones that even that you pay for. There is actually some strategy involved, where as I did not treat it as such. So I learned my lesson. I am huge fan the colors that are used in this game such as the dark blues, bright green and yellow. All blends well. The game runs very smoothly and the storyline is great. I did find it odd that the release of this game is at Christmas when it has a Halloween feel to it :P.

Fun, but frustrating. Gave up when the game makes you "combine powers" (after the second boss), felt like my patience was being tested tbh. Also, voice acting isn't the best, but it's passable. For a free game though, it's pretty alright.

Malediction is just ok... the platforming can be very awkward, the final boss fight was tedious, and optimization was not prioritized. However, it is a student project, and the game's core ideas for mechanics and level design is perfectly good. Overall I recommend if you want to spend some free time on a short platformer.

As you might expect from a student project, some elements of Malediction are amateurish -- the natural result of inexperience. Overall, however, there's a surprising depth of gameplay here, along with nicely done visuals and mostly-passable VO work. It's definitely worth taking a few minutes to see what magic Desert Beagle has managed to conjure up.

A bit more in depth than I thought (I'm dense so it shouldn't have taken me so long to beat it... lol)
For a student project it's really good. Looks decent, I've seen worse voice acting in some "professional" releases. I like the music. The puzzles are mostly simple, though for some reason rewind didn't work for me in a cave area the first time. So it made me end up taking forever there.
Bosses are fairly straight forward, but I'm glad I Finally got around to playing it. It was fun.

this is a very good student project. i like the aesthetics of the game and the spooky halloween theme and the concept of fighting your clones who took your abilities isnt too tired of a concept.however, the game feels very... clunky. it feels similar to playing Gmod with mods in that, it almost is good enough to make it to a fully realized stand alone, but just barely misses the mark. i wouldn't pay money for this but i am excited to see what the dev's do in the future.
