Jonathan Moon receives a letter from his wife who has gone missing a year before. Following information from the message he heads for a secluded mansion where an eldritch, occult ceremony takes place.
Gates to another world - the profane, perverse land of Lusst’ghaa are opened.
TWO WORLDS
Move in both a Victorian mansion and Lusst’ghaa - an alien dimension filled with otherworldly creatures. Lusst’ghaa used to be similar to our earth until the local beings decided to undergo total degeneration at their own wish. Through experiments they transformed their bodies so that they could never cease to experience carnal delights. Hundreds of years have passed since that metamorphosis and Lusst’ghaa is now a land overgrown with alien vegetation and full of monstrosities squirming in a never ending ecstasy.

I have to say I very much liked Lust for Darkness. The story was pretty good in my opinion. I didn't take much time to read the negative reviews, but I can't help but suspect there's a lot of people who came here looking for a sex game and this isn't it. The story is so good, it really ought to be a book.
The graphics ran the line between good and merely 'ok.' Some areas, particularly the lighting was fantastically done though.
A neat addition was that, if you unlock side stories, you can watch animated videos with hand drawn artwork while the narrator fills you in on the story. The voice over is very well done.
The audio fell just short of fantastic. The music/soundtrack was superb. The ambiance was usually pretty good, but there were some spots (only a couple) where the ambient sounds cut out abruptly.
The negative things about this game are hardly worth mentioning overall. I very much liked it. Expect a fairly short game of 4-5 hours. Some will be able to finish it much faster no doubt.

Atmospheric, lovecraft vibe, and erotic horror walking simulator where you go looking to find ya girl in this big mansion where is some weird cult mask party going on.
+ Good atmosphere
+ Visuals looks good
+ Unique
+ Titties
- Very short (no replay value)
- Meaningless stuff to interact.
- Voice acting is average-bad
- Puzzles are very easy
- Feels boring
Well not good.. not too bad so quess ill recommend it if you like lovecraft stuff mixed with some erotic and weirdness. Get it only on heavy discount (-90%)

Not enough horror for a horror game imo.
For 2 bucks, the price i bought it for... yeah sure, go for it. Don't play it around your mother though.

It's an interesting game and it's basically a mix of sex and horror. I did enjoy it because of its story, but however if everything in my opinion was to be considered, I will not recommend buying the game at full price for the following reasons:
1) It's too short and expensive - I was able to finish the game within three hours and its full price is around roughly $10; which is kinda expensive for a short game. Also for $10 you could buy other decent shooting/sandbox game for that amount.
2) Underwhelming sexual theme - Yes, there is nudity and sex, but in the protagonist's experience there is none. You just get to see nude people having sex and a bunch of sex toys. Basically the sexual theme is just on the surroundings and it doesn't really affect your character emotionally (plotwise), and that is kind of a big deal. Since Sex and Lust are the key themes of this game, the protagonist should have at least have an idea of lust in him (like a sex scene or a flashback with his wife - I'm not a creepo, I'm just judging the story by its plot), but actually what he's doing is just running around and escaping sex fiends, so in other words he was unaffected by the sex that was going on and that kinda ruins the immersion, basically the game was just better off being a horror game than a sexual game in the first place.
Overall, I did enjoyed it, I mean the game's story and lore were rich and awesome, but yeah with all that is said and done, it's just not that worth it at full price.

Despite the lag issues I experienced, I enjoyed The Beast Inside enough to be curious about what other business Movie Games S.A. had gotten up to. Lo and behold, there was this game: the one that seemingly rode on the infamous Agony's incompetent coattails, quenching many a gamer's "lustful" urges when that ill-fated game failed to satisfy. Finding this already in my collection, I thought what the heck: let's fire it up, and see how it compares to Beast...both artistically, and, er, technologically...
A confession: I honestly don't know much about frame rates and optimisation and whatnot (and nor do I care to: if I buy a semi-expensive gaming laptop, I expect things to simply work)! I do, however, know this: I've been replaying Layers of Fear 2 at the same time as I've been playing these other two games, and it runs pretty perfectly at close-to-top graphics on my laptop. So while I appreciate how spiffy these "Movie" games look, I can't quite understand why the optimisation seems so comparatively crap. I was honestly hoping my HP Omen might take more kindly to this particular game, since it precedes the highly ambitious Beast, but alas...immediate lag problems forced me to lower my graphics, and still the occasional bout of lag remained.
I mean, maybe it's just me, and I need to "get gud" with specs an' all but...again: Bloober games (and Frictional games and Red Barrels games) run just fine, and look just as good. So I'm fairly sure something's amiss here. So if nothing else, the recommendation I'm about to give this product comes with the exact same disclaimer I gave Beast, namely: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNLESS YOU HAVE A FAIRLY POWERFUL COMPUTER. I can't stress that enough. These games aren't made for toasters.
Anyway, once I had the lag largely under control, I was free to start enjoying the game; and the slight drop in graphics was honestly not that big a deal.
Lust for Darkness establishes its intent rather quickly. Within the first five minutes of gameplay, it's clear this product aims to be a tad more provocative in the sexual stakes than its most obvious sources of inspiration: Amnesia, Layers of Fear, Outlast and so forth. I won't spoil it for you - you'll know the bit in question when you come to it, especially if you search around the first bedroom a little - but the short version of this game is: Lovecraft meets Eyes Wide Shut. With phallic and vaginal "symbols" aplenty. If this already sounds like "too much" for you, again: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. It really isn't for you. (Put another way: this game easily lives up to its lurid title!)
The pros of this product are many. The "world" is quite rich, and if one takes the time to explore, examine items, eavesdrop on gossiping parties and so forth, many tantalising details can be learned (there's even an Achievement called "Ears Wide Shut", rewarding you for listening in on a very intriguing early conversation indeed)! Like most games of this ilk - i.e. atmospheric "walking sims", with danger added - simply aiming to "beat" the game won't help you appreciate the sheer love poured into it. It's a "story rich" game, and should be treated as such; simply bee-lining it to the end won't do you or the game many favours. In short: the impatient need not apply.
The stealth and chase sequences have, in general, been handled very well. We're not quite in Outlast territory here, but to expect such excitement would be folly...given this isn't first and foremost a game about such sequences. As with something like, say, the abovementioned Layers of Fear 2, the "danger" is mostly there to keep you on your toes. Come in expecting an "action" game, and you'll be sorely disappointed. The threat of capture or death is just there to spice the experience up a bit (bar one "boss battle" that is, frankly, a prolonged pain-in-the-neck).
The tone, overall, is quite wonderful. Lovers of Kubrick and Hammer Horror will be in Heaven, as will those intrigued by the Cthulhu mythos (which this isn't really about, but certainly pays sly "homage" to). The entire game drips with atmosphere, and a fairly unique one at that, given the equal emphasis given to both sex and violence. (It's really quite a beautiful game, in a "degenerate" kind of way!)
Oh, and your character does seem to have superior self-control this time around, compared to The Beast Inside; as once you're done examining items you have the option to place said item back where you took it from, as opposed to hurling it to the floor like a spoilt child. (Good to see some mothers raise their children right!)
Now for some cons.
The seemingly simple task of opening and closing doors might prove a challenge for some, especially if you're not as experienced in games of this ilk as Yours Truly (you'll get used to 'em, though)!
While the story is quite compelling, at least for the first half or so, the dialogue...isn't. And the voice acting is more than a tad on the melodramatic side. (The Beast Inside had similar problems, so I'm suspecting much of the same "talent" was involved. It's not "bad" necessarily; just utterly lacking in subtlety, haha.)
The usual lack of logic applicable to pretty much all investigative games applies here. Yes, you'll be sifting through drawers like a detective and sprinting around like a madperson directly in front of the eyes of persons who should surely intervene. Hey: just go along with it! People who've played plenty of these games before know the deal...we're not talking 100% realism here (though at least there isn't a jump button to make things even more preposterous)..!
Having now played two of their games, I can genuinely say I have high hopes for Movie Games S.A. They're not quite up there with Bloober, Frictional and Red Barrels for me yet, but could indeed be heavy contenders in the "stealth-horror" and "horror walking sim" stakes...if only they come to realise that not everyone plays their games while on lunch break at NASA Control.
Verdict: 8.5/10.
