In the Time of the Ancients, the Worldly Realm was ruled by a God of pure evil, who enslaved all humankind under his Dominion. But fear turned to anger as rebellion grew in the hearts of men – until the dawn of the Great Rising, when the fight for freedom began. After a glorious victory that cast aside the Fallen God, humans dictated a new order… a world where no sin can ever be forgiven and redemption was not an option. Now, millennia later, the world trembles in fear as the Demonic Rhogar Legion returns from their dark realm, driven by a foul hunger for innocent spirits. Humanity, in a desperate last act, calls upon an unlikely defender – a convicted sinner, rejected by society and cast out of the light… a man known as Harkyn. Now, alongside his mentor, Kaslo, they must travel to the source of the Darkness… to face the Lords of the Fallen.

This game i have had for a while and although not completed in the time i have had it is a really enjoyable game. i have recently came back to it in 2019 and got slightly further than i did so im progressing slowly. this game is a learning curve and a challanging game from being a souls fan and other soul game a likes this is one of them from challanging combat to the awesome soundtrack. lords of the fallen is a lot slower however and bosses moves sets are very few and repetitive their are sometimes ganks in the boss fights which can also be annoying but if you can master parrying/backstabs then you can easily kill the small mobs. the world can also be confusing at times and may not always be clear on where you need to go.

Combat felt a bit clanky at the beginning but you get used to it pretty fast. 100% the achievs as well as it really made me want to invest time and play more.

+ kind of dark atmosphare
+ collectibles (lots of items, runes, chests, secrets)
+ lots of armors and weapons
+ had 2 attempts for these game with about a 9 months pause and felt proud when I understood the game mechanics (after I finished DS1)
- main plot quality is... shady
- a lot of backtracking
- seem unfinished at some places
- unforgiving for new soulslike players
- annoying enemies with shields
- wierdly done animations
- same boss mechanics for most of the fights
- unbalanced boss fights (normal enemies are sometimes tougher than bosses)
- unbalanced magic spells (warrior rage)

I have to admit that I like this game. It's not number one in its category, but it's high enough that I can recommend it.
What I really like is the great, dark world of this game, it's what makes me come back to it from time to time.
It's also important that it's not an easy game, but that's due to the specifics of that type, referring to games like Dark Souls.
I think if you like NOT EASY games that's one is for you.

How this 8/10 game have mixed reviews? This game is better and easier than dark souls 1. Very fun to play if you mastered it. Most of the mechanics are similar, but this game is more accessible, has additional attacks like the ram or the gauntlet. Lots of different secrets on the map. This game has speaking characters, has some storyline, and additional missions.
In Dark Souls the depths were tragic, and the boss Ornstein and Smough was unbearable for me. Bossess in Lords of the fallen are much better. Even the checkpoint system is better done here than in DS.
The only thing I didn't like about this game were the large enemies with shields. There was no explanation anywhere on how to defeat them, and killing them by short sword was very long. Other weapons are too slow. Of course parry is hard for me. It is too short window for parry'ing.

Wiele lat temu testowałem tą grę, ale jakoś nie podszedł mi ten poziom trudności.
Teraz po latach ponawiam podejście, i całkiem przyjemnie się gra
Dla mnie jest to fajne wejście w świat gier soulslikowych
