This game is a lot of fun : it can be as relaxing as rage-inducing. The art direction is wonderful.
However it has a lot of problems that can make the experience quite frustratring. Honestly I think the team has a good concept that they should continue with - This game really needs a sequel.
First, the camera just doesn't work : to not know what is ahead of you is just frustratring and not at all accurate to a mountain bike experience. The camera should be behind the biker, not on the side, even though I love the idea, in the end it doesn't work.
The camera is very very often blocked by elements, so you have to just go in the dark and guess what's coming.
The biker is just too weak. Sometimes just running very slowly into a rock can cause a crash. Again, mountain biking is an extreme sport so it's just not accurate. The game feels just like walking on eggshells all the time. You're very often fighting the game, instead of the terrain.
I would absolutely love a sequel that would change these problems, and with a similar but slightly different artstyle : I'd love for the team to put the dirt in dirtbike and add mud, wet ground, wet grass, dust and mud projections - just like in real life !

Un vrai petit joyau ce jeu.
Les environnements et le level design sont magnifiques et sont en harmonie totale avec les perspectives et les mouvements de caméra, qui parfois peuvent paraître déroutants et contre-intuitives mais qui sont en réalité toujours maîtrisés je trouve.
La difficulté est vraiment hyper bien ajustée et la courbe de progression est naturelle et tellement satisfaisante purée ; trouver des raccourcis, tester des patterns de directions à prendre, tomber et réessayer, c'est trop addictif.
L'expérience est encore meilleure sur SteamDeck, le fait de pouvoir juste faire la course quotidienne en 5min quand on a un peu de temps, l'OLED pour les courses de nuit, non c'est trop fort.
5€ le jeu en promo à ce niveau-là il faut juste s'asseoir et applaudir. Ca rend presque le DLC trop cher pour ce que c'est sachant que c'est juste une map en plus.
Hâte de jouer à la suite avec des potes.
