I played this game in pre-release and loved it, and the developer has only added more to love.
You control the "pigs" trying to fend off the invading "wolves". The mechanics will be familiar to most TD fans, pick a type of fixed turret (fast light damage, long range heavy damage, slow, etc.) and try to pummel away at the oncoming waves. You can refund towers in the build phase if you don't like placement, and level them up as you earn coins from defeating baddies. In typical fashion, enough baddies making it to your base ends in failure.
The game has a low difficulty for the first two stages, then ramps up hard on the third stage - a little too much. I felt mostly "ok" on the first two stages where on the third I was completely overwhelmed. The game pushes you to really think about placement and strategy.
One aspect I really enjoyed with this game was the leveling mechanic of your turrets. Once they reach max level, they take on an enhanced attribute, for example the rifle pigs' bullets start shooting through enemies. This is a really cool enhancement to make the game interesting and really help you turn a corner during those difficult waves.
Between levels, you can pick upgrades from blue stars earned by completing levels. These abilities give you extra ways to stop waves during runs.
Overall I would recommend this game to any TD fans, or even those new to the genre. There isn't much in way of music for this game, but the pixel art is charming and you can tell there was a lot of hard work put into this game.
In short, a very fun TD game for a steal of a price.
