Only, escape is not so easy.
Features and Gameplay
– LISA the First is a short and surreal exploration game reminiscent of retro-RPGs.
– Navigate the twisting world of Lisa’s mind, finding hidden doors and pathways to strange and exotic places.
– Explore these spaces to uncover Lisa’s memories and unveil the sinister forces laying in wait.
– Interact with a cast of dark and strange characters who persist across multiple memories.
– Collect faded thoughts as VHS tapes, and seek a way to replay them in order to gain insight into the sights and sounds you encounter.

There is no combat, no clear objective, just the unsettling experience of navigating Lisa’s subconscious. The grotesque figures she encounters are not just enemies. They are manifestations of something far worse, distorted echoes of abuse and suffering. The game’s sound design amplifies the unease, using eerie silence, distorted music, and unnerving audio cues to create an oppressive atmosphere. Every interaction, no matter how small, feels significant, like a glimpse into something too painful to fully comprehend.

Thank goodness its free because its so bugged that you cannot do some things out of order or it can hard crash your game if you enter the lobby. Other than that, it is a short experience from Lisa's perspective that was really enjoyable, while it worked.

Lisa: the First is the tragic story of a young girl named Lisa and her father Marty, told in a similar way Yume Nikki told it's story - absurdist dreamlike RPG maker levels with symbolism everywhere. This game is important to understanding several moments in Lisa: the Painful, so I'd recommend playing Lisa: the first for that alone.
It's impressive how much characterization all 3 characters get with so little explicitly told, the audio direction is cool. Give it a go, it's free.

The first of the lisa series that doesnt really feel required to the story of the sequels.
The context provided in this game are traumatic and told very vaugely, however if you dig into the subtext you will feel disgusted with yourself.
You could pass it up because most of the games story is pretty much covered in the sequels in a more tasteful and enjoyable way.
The gameplay consists of just walking around and picking up objects, its not too fun but I was in love with lisa so I finished it
Cheers,

The spiders aren't that bad, it's mainly just recognizing patterns, and correct timing. If you really are struggling then I don't know what to tell you. Maybe go play some Frogger on the Play Station 1, or something. That's my best advice. (*_*) BIG GAY BALLS (*_*)

Heard the gameplay was miserable and ended up enjoying it. The REALLY miserable part is the story behind scenes...

I decided to play through the trilogy of LISA games, I had seen them recommended a lot online, and I already had a copy of LISA the Painful and LISA the Joyful. So far its been a pretty dark but memorable experience. I plan on starting the next part shortly.
