THE STORY
Klace returns with a third story, set on an Earth governed by fate and social discord. The year is 2041, and Komorebi dominates the world. A phenomenon that eludes understanding, causing people to regularly experience a vision of their future. The world is obsessed with “fate”. Obsessed with Komorebi; a word used to describe sunlight as it filters through the branches of trees. It’s a simple and poetic metaphor for the visions filtering into this reality. When the visions began, the world was never the same.
If Winds of Change was a story about how one person with visions (The Seer) can change the world, Komorebi is a story about how a world of visions can change one person on an intimate, personal level. A coming-of-age/slice of life story about a group of friends finding their way in a life they believe may already be predestined. Please note that while this world and the phenomenon of Komorebi are rather abstract, they allow for a realistic exploration into mental health topics that some may find distressing.

In general: The story is kinda linear, because it doesn't really matter in which order you do the fragments or what you decide to do. In my opinion there were to less ways to fail and to go into your own directen. As a non linear medium it could have provided you more freedom. This is overall an intelligent and interesting story with muuuuuuch slice-of-live in between, but also kinda straightly narrated.
Comparison: I liked more the exploration through a map and the tree-like dialogues of Winds of Change an also I am more a Fantasy person than a Sci Fi or Dystopia-modern-setting person. So I'd say I like Winds of Change more, but Komorebi was definitely an entertaining Visual Novelle, otherwise I wouldn't have collect all 100 achivements.
Pro: This Novelle definitely is nicely transported with audio and visuals, good voice actors, full audio narration and even songs, so it definitely stands out in presentation. The story is very philosophically and questioning our modern times!
Contra: It is very intelligently designed, but at the cost of game design / freedom. It's very linear and doesn't-matter-what-you-chose, besides how many of the cute furries you choose to get into relationship with. Also a warning: You've to make clear in the very first choices that you're open for a character, or you can't gettem. So even tho you don't knew Isaac from the beginning on, his relationship fragment was the first and if you don't give hints, he is enclosed from then on. I also missed a skip button. I had to play 1-2 hours of just clicking through to get rid of this early mistake.
Result: I would recommend the game, but it has flaws :)
