Kingdom Wars 4
The King’s Campaign – Out Now!
King’s Campaign is a standalone version of the Royal Blood DLC campaign for Medieval Kingdom Wars with the Greater World DLC expanded map
Sultans & Kings DLC – Out Now
the GameIt’s 1347, the time of the Hundred Years’ War. You take on a role of one of 200 Minor Lords or Kings from the time period. Be a minor noble in Ottomans court, an earl in Ireland, or Emperor of Byzantium, and rewrite history by fighting to preserve your empire, and prevent the spread of the Black Death across Europe.
You bear the burden of leadership, and must decide how to keep your people safe. Act swiftly, using diplomacy or military might, but do not hesitate or the consequences will be dire. History has shown the critical importance of sound leadership in times of great crisis, even as we face these dangers now.
Brutal Epic Battles
Battles are truly epic – with several thousands units on all sides of battle. Bloody sieges, pitched field battles, and naval warfare unfolds with brutal historical realism and survival elements. When the battle is won, loot corpses or take apart towns to replenish your much needed resources.
Enormous World Map
The entirety of greater Europe and beyond is your playground – from the sultanates of North Africa to Byzantium, the Russian states and the Golden Horde, and all the Kingdoms of the Western and Central Europe. You can start the game as a minor noble with a small demesne or as a King ruling a great nation. There are dozens of Kingdoms for you to choose from and over 300 Lords and Kings whose role you can play.
Redefining the Genre
Kingdom Wars 4 is the first historical strategy game to feature a full scale pandemic, as well as the optional undead mode (free DLC coming this winter), with millions of infected and undead potentially roaming the world map. Gameplay is ever evolving from lordship or kingdom management, to fighting a pandemic.
Battle the Plague
The black death is here, and as it sweeps through your empire your focus will quickly shift from conquering your rivals to surviving the pandemic. Utilize primitive medieval medicine, quarantine your cities, cut trade with distant lands, whatever it takes to stem the tide of death. Millions of people across Europe will get infected and die, and very soon it’s the human resources and not silver coins that will become the most sparse resource.
From the makers of Medieval Kingdom Wars
Kingdom Wars 4 builds upon the success of Medieval Kingdom Wars and takes things further. As we enter Early Access, however, almost everything has been redone from the ground up, and gameplay has completely changed. Only some of the art and level assets remain (for now). A greatly expanded world map and new plague mechanics are just the beginning, with hundreds of new lords to play as and many new nations and cities to conquer and control.
Build an Empire
Build your cities and hamlets, engage in trade, economy and diplomacy, and in this time of great conflict in Europe – partake in almost non-stop warfare – from epic sieges to naval combat and bloody field battles.
Manage Towns Up-close
You have the freedom to manage everything up-close and personal by entering towns in RTS mode. Construct buildings and walls, and position your troops. At the same time, you can also manage everything on the world map.

fun game. has a lot that many rts/4x games are missing.
4x feature feels like flash. its a huge game so i imagine performance was a limiting factor there.
crashes after every 3rd fight.

Kingdom Wars 4: A RTS Hybrid Experience. As a leader, you assume the responsibility of leadership and must make strategic decisions to safeguard your people. Act expeditiously, utilizing diplomacy or military might, as hesitation will have severe consequences. History has consistently demonstrated the importance of effective leadership in times of crisis, a lesson that remains pertinent today. It is the year 1347, amidst the Hundred Years' War. Assume the role of one of 200 Minor Lords or Kings from that era. Become a minor noble in the Ottoman court, an earl in Ireland, or Emperor of Byzantium, and redefine history by fighting to preserve your empire and prevent the spread of the Black Death across Europe. The graphics are commendable for the age of the game, reminiscent of the Total Wars series. The music is tastefully done, capturing the essence of the time period, with sounds of swords clashing and horses neighing, all precisely on target. As a leader, you bear the weight of responsibility and must decide how to safeguard your people. Act decisively, utilizing diplomacy or military might, but do not hesitate, as the consequences will be severe. History has demonstrated the crucial importance of effective leadership in times of crisis, a lesson that remains relevant today. Battles are truly epic, with thousands of units on all sides. Experience bloody sieges, pitched field battles, and naval warfare, all unfolding with brutal historical realism and survival elements. Upon emerging victorious, loot corpses or ransack towns to replenish your much-needed resources. The entirety of greater Europe and beyond serves as your playground, spanning from the sultanates of North Africa to Byzantium, the Russian states, and the Golden Horde, as well as all the Kingdoms of Western and Central Europe. Initiate the game as a minor noble with a small demesne or as a King ruling a great nation. Dozens of Kingdoms are available for selection, and over 300 Lords and Kings are present throughout the game, all of which have been implemented very well. I find the game charming and definitely worth the money, considering its price. It is definitely something I would purchase.

If you love strategy it's definitely worth the price. RTS is a bit clunky but you can compensate by being strong on the campaign map and using auto resolve to cut your way through the enemies.

I've got this game via discount, and this is right price for it. The concept is great. The bugs from KW3 are still here yet there are no critical ones and you can learn how to ignore them. Here are a few tips or surprises:
1) building in real-time sometimes costs no resources; enter a city, press pause, build or upgrade a few buildings, then exit; reload if resources are spent and try another city;
2) building in real-time or any battle reset month timer; thus you pay zero maintenance; therefore you may ignore resource-producing buildings or cattle; the happiness still changes;
3) hamlets upgrade into... hamlets increasing max pop;
4) early game lvl 5 archers + 1 melee unit win any siege (maybe except one, I have not tried this in this version); there is no late game with zero time trick;
4.1) targeting different individual enemy models increase archer's rate of fire; for melee units just set the stance to aggressive, they will target enemies by themselves;
4.2) you don't need rams; melee units break any gate if you target a circle on the ground near the gate;
5) you can build the town and accumulate resources in a battle; build some lumber yards, a barn or a mill, some silver mines;
6) any diseased pops can be expelled for free; thus you actually don't need to fight any zombies if you don't want to;
7) an allied army builds units without spending resources; you can disband them into pops; you have additional building spots when allied army is present - use them to generate extra resources;
8) you can build one lvl 5 archery range, disband most of units in this city and convert them into archers;
9) building an archery range in real-time is not quite feasible because you generally need an army when the battle starts;
10) manson upgrades do not generate any resources, warehouse upgrades do not increase warehouse capacity, the barn upgrades do not decrease cattle cost (you don't need cattle with zero time trick); you may skip most upgrades in real-time battle (or you can upgrade resource generators in the city, they stay after battle, though it is useless with zero time trick)
11) a barn generates food despite of its description, it feeds at least one army;
12) temporary placing carts into a hamlet allows spending 400+ resources in real-time, not 200 (not sure if this can be free);
13) load using main menu; otherwise army positions are not reset (actually you can use it to your advantage - relocate the army where you need it, load the game and get infinite army repositioning speed);
14) if you recruit a new army, reloading (even via main menu) does not always remove it;
15) mixing battle sounds has problems, some sounds are of a different volume which breaks immersion;
16) some geography is questionable, e. g. IRL Kazan latitude is mostly the same as the one of Moscow;
17) you probably should stop playing after conquering three neighbors, the game becomes repetitive at this point.
The game does not try to be balanced, and discovering these things is fun by itself. Yet is is a special fun, not for everyone.
