In Killing Floor 2 players descend into continental Europe where the outbreak caused by Horzine Biotech’s failed experiment has quickly spread and gained unstoppable momentum, essentially paralyzing the European Union— Just one month after the conclusion of the events in the original Killing Floor, the specimen clones are everywhere and civilization is in disarray communications have failed, governments have collapsed, and military forces have been systematically eradicated. The people of Europe know survival and self-preservation too well and lucky survivors have gone into hiding.
Not all have given up hope though... A group of civilians and mercenaries have banded together to combat the outbreak and established privately funded operation bases across Europe. Upon tracking specimen clone outbreaks, players will descend into zed-laden hot zones and exterminate them

I love this game. I really do.
But the developers kinda dropped the ball on these last updates.
They promised that the new "DLC" weapons for $10 each wouldn't be overpowered or "Pay to win." I'm here to tell you that they lied. Buying the DLC weapons give you a clear advantage over the base weapons. Of course, you don't have to buy them, as you can use them if someone else has the pack, but the point still stands. I've tried this new Summer Slideshow update, and the new Glock18C on Gunslinger is extremely overpowered. This gun alone is a pay to win weapon, which is going to be locked behind a $10 paywall. This is an action that I don't want to stand for, and as much as it saddens me to say this, makes me not want to support this game anymore. As much as I love this game, the Developers are trying to milk what's left of the player base for all they can with small updates, giving a single map every six months or so, and DLC packs that contain near-to-fully pay to win weapons.
Do I recommend this game? Yes. The animations are fluid, the guns are amazing to use, and cutting down hordes is absolutely exhilarating. Do I recommend you buy the DLC packs? No. They're too overpriced for what you get, and what you do get makes the game borderline easy if you know what you're doing. (And considering that all you're doing is shooting zeds, getting to know what you're doing doesn't take you that long at all.)

Paid weapon DLCs are not cool, still a fun game to play co-op.

64 GB.. it's not really worth.. the gameplay doesn't really have much to offer. I played in on PS4. You kill zeds to buy better gun. Sure it is super satisfying to pop zeds head with your guns, but if you looking forward to more than that, this game might be disappointing. If you don't mind shooting same enemies for fun - you will like it. I personally cant see it as I game that I could spend 100s of hrs without getting bored.
It’s a great game to play with friends. 7.5/10

Overview
Killing Floor 2 (KF2) is the sequel to Tripwire's gory co-op horde shooter Killing Floor. The initial release was in 2015 and opted out of early-access in November 2016. The game rewards players' survival individually but if one mistake is made, the punishment is for all.
Killing Lore
🔹Horzine is a biotech lab specialized in cloning experiments. The lead scientist of the project, Kevin Clamely, used his dead son to create a clone and soon began various illegal cloning and human experimentation. Overwhelmed by seeing clones (Zeds) as his children, he decides to unleash hordes of them all over Europe and eventually turns himself into a mechanized monstrosity. Now Horzine sees no way out the mess they made but only to hire local mercenaries to secure hot zones and exterminate these screeching and slobbering creatures.
Who in the bloody hell enraged the Fleshpound?
The main goal
🔹Players are teamed up in 6 for fighting through waves against Zeds. Back to back while healing each other as waves pass, different types of Zeds are introduced, culminating with a boss fight as the final wave. Killing Zeds, healing teammates, and surviving each wave grant you XP to level up and money to buy equipment, weapons, and upgrades at trader pods around the map. Tripwire is actively updating the game with seasonal content along with officially bringing in community-made stuff. KF2 is primarily played in survival mode. While other modes like VS. survival, endless, and objective do exist, lack of players and low engagement rate of the content is what that scares players away.
🔹The basic strategy is uncomplicated: stay grouped, conserve ammo, spend money wisely, have a good healer, and know when to run away. Along with skill, combat efficiency also demands thoughtful resource management. If you have the foresight and capabilities to see the bigger picture by spending your money on the combination of the right guns at the right time, you're rewarded with an easier path through large Zeds to the boss.
Perks
🔹You can easily cross some perks out of your list, though, each one is valuable in viable hands. In terms of specificity, some of them stand out among the others. Berserker, for instance, combines great mobility with the ability to dispatch Zeds at point-blank range or Medics that might not be potent damage-dealers but certainly, the survival of your team is in their hands.
🔹Other perks such as Swat, Gunslinger, Support, etc. are sort of interchangeable "feel free to replace these with an off-meta perk if you want to have fun". They are capable of killing both large and trash Zeds efficiently in capable hands but more important roles should be your everyday pick. Each perk, or better to say class, has twenty-five levels and a set of two skills are unlocked every five levels that could dramatically modify your playstyle and choice of weapons.
Arsenal
🔹Gunplay might not be extraordinary but the pure carnage the guns spit out is amazing. The recoil pattern is the same for all guns and in a straight vertical line that might feel wacky and needs some getting used to. However, an enormous range of weaponry is offered to make up for any other shortcomings. I can certainly say there are a dozen weapons in each category, if not more. From real-life military-grade firearms to experimental makeshift guns that make lethal shots out of battery charges and various melees to make it personal.
Zeds
🔹Kevin went out of his way to make a considerable diversity in Zed types. Even the most insignificant ones are to be treated differently and cautiously since they can grab and hold onto you until their bigger friends arrive. Sirens' screams are deadly and damage you even through armor. Bloats have projectile vomits that blurs your vision long enough to cause you trouble. Husks are equipped with fire cannons and on the verge of defeat, they go suicidal on your team. Lastly, Fleshpounds and Scrakes are the ones you don't want to mess with when unprepared.
🔹On higher difficulties, elite variants of weaker Zeds join the onslaught. They either burst into a toxic cloud or buff nearby enemies in terms of speed and strength. Larger Zeds not only become tankier and stronger but also perform a set of new moves and attacks.
🔹Reaching max prestige level in all perks as well as 100% achievement completion takes 400-500 hours minimum🔹
Eschewing the gritty grindhouse aesthetic
🔹This game is a visual spectacle considering it's developed by an indie company. A sort of design that wasn't top-of-the-line even back in the release year but created in an ageless style. KF2 certainly stepped away from the faded aesthetics of the previous game by bringing more color tones to it, yet looking murkier than ever in every corner of Europe (partly across the globe and even in space). The attention to details for creating characters, weapon models, and outbroken cities is incredible along with Zed animations looking solid and buttery-smooth in most cases.
🔹Expect nothing but pure industrial heavy metal. Despite being reluctant to any category of metal music, I must admit that KF2 has banded good artists together. A perfect match for the gory and intense action of the game. Also, a noteworthy fact is that the game now has separate voice actors for all characters while the first game re-used some of the crew to cut down on the costs. Most of these characters sound absolutely genuine, often with enjoyable accents and witty jokes to lighten up the senseless carnage going on around you.
🔹TECHNICAL🔹
Specs: GTX1050 2GB - Athlon II X4 645 - 8GB DDR3 RAM
The game runs with all settings maxed out using about 70% of VRAM at 1050p 60hz.
🔹BUGS & ISSUES🔹
The first launch after every system reboot is annoyingly long
Microtransactions. Some weapons are locked behind a paywall
Matchmaking does not work properly. Despite applying filters to your search, you might still end up on an unchosen criteria
Verdict
After the addition of microtransactions and flooding the game with ridiculous cosmetics, KF2 recent seasonal content is turning into hollow additions of more paid DLC weapons to feed the company's greed. Most of the Tripwire's attention is going towards designing new skins.
KF2 rocks a dark vibe obviously but Tripwire stepped up their game big time since the previous game. Gunplay is satisfying all around and is gorier than you could ask for, Whether you're slashing through Zeds with a katana or turning them into dust and rust with plasma cannons. Progression is rather slow after level fifteen but each skillset gives you enough flexibility to choose or even create your own loadouts and playstyles. It is a challenging and fun co-op shooter with workshop mods for endless mapmaking opportunities but If you want a perfect replica of the previous game, KF2 isn't that.
