Killing Floor 2
In Killing Floor 2 players descend into continental Europe where the outbreak caused by Horzine Biotech’s failed experiment has quickly spread and gained unstoppable momentum, essentially paralyzing the European Union— Just one month after the conclusion of the events in the original Killing Floor, the specimen clones are everywhere and civilization is in disarray communications have failed, governments have collapsed, and military forces have been systematically eradicated. The people of Europe know survival and self-preservation too well and lucky survivors have gone into hiding. Not all have given up hope though… A group of civilians and mercenaries have banded together to combat the outbreak and established privately funded operation bases across Europe. Upon tracking specimen clone outbreaks, players will descend into zed-laden hot zones and exterminate them

Pros
Numerous play styles can be accounted for in this game.
Teamwork is heavily supported, and sometimes required.
6player co-op. I think it can go up to 12 though if you have your own server
(Free, kinda complicated to setup.)
Difficulty scales to how many players/bots are in a match, so it doesn't get stale.
(Bots are not vanilla and require workshop mods. They also have their own cons.)
There are console commands on this on pc, so you can spawn in guns and overall make this game a bit more fun on your end.
Most guns they add to the game are fun. The downside is quite a good amount are reskins, with a different name. (not enough of them for it to be a con.)
New maps are still added to this game every now and then. Even with Killing Floor 3 coming out they have not abandoned 2.
Workshop support, Controllers fully work.
Cons
Dlcs are expensive. They only add new guns, or cosmetics.
If you have a friend to play this with who owns all the DLCS the entire lobby has access to the dlc guns they bought.
(It is only As long as that person is a part of the lobby. - This does not include any cosmetics.)
All maps are free by default in this game and you have workshop maps too if you get bored with the vanilla maps.
The Loot server system is extremely dumb. If you do not have internet the DLCs you bought will not load into the game offline.
None of your loot you earned from the game, none of your cosmetics.
(if you are buying the dlcs, i'd recommend to make sure you get them on deal.)
EDARS. This game has always been better without these annoying robots.
If your a new player you won't care, or know what i am talking about.
Zed Spawns. If you kill a zed, keep in mind wherever the closest spawn point is to you, is where the next zed will spawn. That means you can get surrounded very easily and it won't be a skill factor of why you died sometimes.
(In KF1 this wasn't a thing, which is why it's a con here.)
Keep in mind most maps are pretty small and close corridors.
(unless you get them from the workshop.)
So the spawn thing is a bigger issue on the claustrophobic maps.
Overall Playtime
Infinitely replayable.
Workshop maps can refresh the game for you even after 100's of hours. Along with other various mods. There are endless game modes, along with standard modes where you can beat the maps. You can easily fit a match of this game in before work or something and play it everyday if you wished to do so.
Conclusion
The game is worth it on deal if you are into fast paced first person shooters.
If you ask me it is better then any COD zombies. Since it is more fast paced and isn't reliant on you running in circles training zombies.
If you don't buy the dlcs, you won't have a reason to worry about not having stuff in offline, and makes it more worth it.
Most people will have internet connection too when they play so it's potentially not an issue to anyone.
It's just when you buy something and you can't use it, it is kind of a huge issue.
I personally love this game, and have spent a ridiculous amount of time on it.
(100hrs on Steam. 474hrs on Playstation.)
Before choosing if you buy the dlcs, i'd recommend checking if your friends on steam have them or not first.
This game is better with people, it's just there is a learning curve in this game, and throwing yourself into the hardest difficulty in public matches is not the way to play here.
There are numerous classes and they all have a very different play style.
The game also allows you to be a jack of all trades type deal and you can make almost anything work in this game, if you are skilled enough. In short you will get out of this game what you put into it.
I am going to recommend the game, since i had and still do have a lot of fun in this game when i am not burnt out and i will let you decided if you think it's worth it or not.

For $2 how can anyone complain about this game. Shoot undead and upgrade your guns. good times and better with others on your squad

I've been playing KF2 on Steam and Xbox since it's release several years ago. It is, without a doubt, my favorite wave based FPS - possibly my favorite FPS overall. The randomized bosses at the end of the waves keeps you on your toes, and the different types of zeds (monsters) are enough to keep the game fresh and fun after years of playing. New maps have been added and the bonus of custom maps on PC makes the possibilities so much more fun. The levelling system is fair, I particularly like that you can choose one perk but it doesn't restrict you to those weapon types or play style. The game is very versatile with lots of different weapon options, a perk to suit any way that you prefer to play FPS. Headshots, or blast everything with fire, go hand to hand, or hang back and heal your teammates. There's plenty of options on KF2.

Fantastic community of players. Overall great vibes all around slaying zombies. some people could use a reality check being so anal over a co-op game but they're a minority.

This game looks like shit. The UI is shit, it looks like 2005 even though it's a 2016 game, and it makes you download 60 Gb of shitty cosmetics (it used to be a 30 Gb download when it came out, not 90 Gb).
It's obviously been coded with their arses and even the server browser looks and behaves like 1999 Gamespy (pretty sure The All Seeing Eye was more advanced).
So why the thumbs up ? Because it's fun. Been playing it on the regular for a couple months with my best friends and it's just real good fun.
The gameplay is good. Not revolutionary, but good. It's sound, it works. The perks (classes) and their various passive skills are fun, each perks' weapons range from good to absolutely silly, and there's even a bit of challenge if you want some. We all hate the Matriarch.
Push past the ugly package and the humongous download, and get it on sale. Get your pyro or medic to level 25. Try out those weapons, especially those that look silly at first glance. You'll not regret it.
