Kenshi

A free-roaming squad based RPG focusing on open-ended sandbox gameplay features rather than a linear story. Be a trader, a thief, a rebel, a warlord, an adventurer, a farmer, a slave, or just food for the cannibals. Research new equipment and craft new gear. Purchase and upgrade your own buildings to use as safe fortified havens when things go bad, or use them to start up a business. Aid or oppose the various factions in the world while striving for the strength and wealth necessary to simply survive in the harsh desert. Train your men up from puny victims to master warriors. Carry your wounded squad mates to safety and get them all home alive. Features Freeform gameplay in a seamless game world in the largest single-player RPG world since Daggerfall, stretching over 870 square kilometers. The game will never seek to limit you or restrict your personal play style. Custom design as many characters as you want and build up a whole squad to fight for you. Characters will grow and become stronger with experience, not just in their stats but their appearance too. Original take on the RTS-RPG hybrid genre. No "hero" characters with artificially stronger stats than everybody else- Every character and NPC you meet is potentially an equal, and has a name, a life. You are not the chosen one. You're not great and powerful. You don't have more 'hitpoints' than everyone else. You are not the center of the universe, and you are not special. Unless you work for it.

Mach was du willst.
ps. Kauf Kenshi!

can not recommend enough. first "playthrough": mining copper to sell in the closest town (70m away), hungry bandits come over to check me out. They just have metal sticks and i have a sword. I can easily take them. I get beaten to death by them. end of story

Ein sehr schönes Spiel. Ich mag es sehr. Man kann hier seine eigene Geschichte "schreiben." Ich hoffe, es wird ein Kenshi 2 geben. :)
A very nice game. I like it very much. You can “write” your own story here. I hope there will be a Kenshi 2. :)

what is kenshi?
a story driven , open world, sandbox, hardcore survival, colony building, rpg Simulation type of game that allows the player to fully explore realy well written background stories of the lands and the people that live inside of it.
a jack of all trades but a master of non.
a concept art of something big that is about to come later
kenshi is what x beyound the Frontier was for egosoft.
it is guaranteed to become a massive success that defies all physics and marketing laws.
this studio will have massive success because of the way they work on their game,
because of work ethics, because of how they interact with their fanbase and because of
how persistant they are with what they're doing.
its still at the beginning. like baldurs gate 1
but you can await a lot from this studio.
what it excells at already: story writing, atmosphere, they make you feel part of the world but simultaniously do not care about you. the game runs without you. you are just a visitor in a post apocalyptic fantasy world. the game does not disconnect you when all of your charackters die, because you don't matter here.
you can leave a footprint, you can become the emperor, but its as likely that your storie ends only a couple hours into the game and you'll have to restart from zero lol
i love that.
what i wish it would do better:
the automisation. it is borderline impossible to have a colony bigger than 12 people because a lot of mechanics are not 100% polished or even implemented.
like the abilitie to go out and explore, while having passive income via your colony.
there is no way to automise selling your wares and grinding reputation with factions in this game
wich kind of hardcaps the ability of a player to impact the world.
i realy hated, having to load the old save, because my colony got wiped while i was exploring the lands and putting my focus on this small explorer squad. or people starving in the colony without me noticing it, so 4 hours of gameplay out the window in order to fix this mistake back in time....
that realy kind of turned me off midgame and made me abondend the game again.
but that is not ment as critics, im just saying how it is. this game is not a finished product and never was ment as one.
you have to treat it like a concept art for something big to come and if you want them to have the abilitie to create the full vision of this extreme cool concept, you gotta support them now and thats why im proud to have this game in my library.
they deserve all the support they can get, and the game is worth every cent of its current price even though it is not in a perfect state.
i highly reccomend to check this game out, when you love postapocalyptic stories with big details on charackters. if you're not the type of player who loves good stories in games, this game is probably not for you. cause the storie quality in my opinion is what carries the game over the edge of succession for the future.
im sure they will round off the edges, and polish already existing mechanics and make it more perfect in this regard for kenshi 2, and if you're agreeing with me here, they'll need your support in order to actually do it.
id give it 100/100 points, because of what im expecting of its future
i have a good knowledge when it comes down to humans and i think the guys behind the game are unstoppable.
realisticly, just judging the quality of the ingame mechanics, the game still sits above 70/100 points in my book.
a lot polishment has to be done but the core is already an impressive masterwork.
