Jazz Lightning : Castle Dungeons is a single player pixel 2D action platformer where you need to find your way through lethal castle dungeons and obtain their mythical gems. In order to do that,our hero needs to avoid various traps,jump over dangerous pits of poison, dodge sharp spikes and find the lost silver key to unlock the door for the next room of the dungeon.
Inspired by the old classic retro horizontal scrolling platformers.
Story
You will take control of a mysterious treasure hunter called Jazz Lightning and his adventures through the ancient and unexplored world of Gaia.Jazz is seeking to obtain the mythical treasure artifacts of the forbidden castles which are scattered across this unforgiving world.Legend says that the one who shall posses all of them will obtain the full power of the of the storm god…or at least thats what the Oldman says.But who is this oldman you may wonder?Nobody knows…not even him…he is too old to remember.

Not quite "hardcore" platformer. I've only played for 24 minutes but I think that's enough time to get a feel for the game. So far mechanics are basic, with a jump and dash being the only "moves". The format is like many of these platform games; avoid all the death, and reach the goal. Begins to ramp up in difficulty quickly and steeply. Haven't managed to complete the first world yet, but I will update my review as appropriate.
Graphics are nice and cheerful. Music is a little repetitive but I'm fine with repetition. Controls are reasonably responsive, certainly playing with a gamepad. It's Early Access and the developer seems to be fairly active. So far there are two worlds available, each with ten levels. Some boss battles could be interesting, but that might require some offensive capabilities for our hero. With a name like Jazz Lightning I would imagine he could develop a number of electricity based abilities like a zap ray or a full on Thor lightning storm.
I would like to see a double jump or wall jump added to increase the move set of the hero a little and to help those of us who sucked at Mario and never got much better! This definitely has a PC platformer of the 90s kinda vibe. Think Commander Keen, Zool or Jazz Jackrabbit although not as polished or frantic as any of those titles! I do believe this game shows promise and I will certainly keep an eye out for updates.

Hard game but i spend some great time playing it...you need to focus to pass the dungeons is very difficult after some levels.Nice game need some improvements ...keep going make some more dungeons

Cool and fun game. Easy to medium lvls had fun playing all the lvls but unfortunately on the 9th lvl on the 2nd castle it bugs out and you can not retry again other than restarting the game. Other than that some really cool and intense lvls but it needs more mobility options to make it even more fun other than the ability you have. Recommended for the price!
