This is an arcade train simulator.
I like the live action footage, it is very neat and an interesting idea indeed. The controls are simple, yet they are a nightmare with (mouse) and keyboard, you can't remap the keys. You can only remap the keys for controllers.
With keyboard you accelerate with X, stop accelerating with D and increase and decrease the breaks with left and right arrow keys; super unintuitive in my opinion.
This has lots more content than the 3DS version. You can drive both tracks up and down (aka both directions) and you can drive the main track in summer instead of fall (maple trees are green instead of red).
The default timetable mode ist easy and the professional one is rather difficult, if you want to get good grades, which is rewarding.
The game is however pretty chilled; speed of the train changes rather quickly, one of the reasons being that you only have 4 levels of acceleration to choose from, which makes it a constant decrease-increase-decrease speed lever sort of thing. However, you can still easily enjoy the scenery in the default timetable mode, because you have plenty of time to reach the next station and thus you don't have to look at the speed as much.
I think the game is too expensive for its content; but it is kinda special.
(Japanese people seem to dislike this game a lot, looking at the reviews)
I got all of the achievements now, basically 100% the game in 11 hours.

ziemlich chillig.
