J.U.L.I.A.: Among the Stars is an innovative narrative driven adventure game which is being developed due to overwhelming support from a successful crowdfunding campaign.
The story centers on Rachel Manners, a 35 year old astrobiologist. She is a member of an elite group of scientists, chosen to embark on one of the most critical missions ever conceived on Earth. Now Rachel is alone, orbiting an unknown planet. Her only companions are J.U.L.I.A., the space probe’s artificial intelligence and Mobot, a huge reconnaissance robot. Together, this unlikely trio will explore the mysteries of this solar system. But are they prepared for what they will find?
story
After countless years of careful space observation, the enormous telescope Chandra 17 suddenly locates a solar system quite similar to our own. As all earthly observatories turned their attention towards this new discovery, a signal of artificial origin is detected from deep within the system.
Reaction was immediate and a mission plan was conceived. No expense was spared in the construction of a massive space probe. It was designed and equipped to be ideally suited for the ultimate challenge: to meet and study extraterrestrial sentient life-forms. Equal care was taken with the crew. Only the most prominent scientists were selected and trained to ideally represent planet Earth. Everything was perfectly planned and success was certain. Yet somehow, everything has gone terribly wrong…
Now, imagine being jolted awake by an emergency alarm. As your surroundings come into focus, you realize you were deep in cryogenic sleep on a vast space probe. But why you are there is an elusive memory. Disoriented, you rush to the control room searching for answers. Once there you learn from the ship’s AI that not only have you been asleep for decades, but you are also the last surviving member of the probe’s crew.
To make matters worse, the probe is severely damaged by a disastrous impact with a passing meteoroid swarm. First, you must make repairs. Not only is your own survival at stake, but you need to find out what happened to the crew and why you alone survived.

Buen juego que, aunque ya tiene sus añitos (y se nota especialmente en las cinemáticas y alguna optimización), está bien realizado y con una historia que te atrapa y te hace querer saber más. Es verdad que más o menos intuyes por dónde van a ir los tiros, pero aún así tiene algunos giros interesantes y te apetece conocer los detalles, y cómo vas desvelando poco a poco las cosas.
La ambientación está bien lograda, la atmósfera de estar en una galaxia desconocida e ir descubriendo lo que ha pasado. Los puzzles, en general no son complicados, aunque algunos me han parecido que no tienen demasiado sentido (sobre todo los que sirven para lograr las mejoras de la máquina...aún estoy intentando descifrarlos).
Toda la parte de la mitología, se me ha hecho un poco más cuesta arriba, pero siendo ciencia ficción, todo cabe. En general, buen juego y entretenido.

Un buen juego, buenos graficos, pero no esta en español. Por esa razon debi dejar de jugarlo, ya que me resultaba muy dificil entender lo que decian, mis conocimientos de ingles me han sido suficientes hasta ahora para entender, salvo alguna que otra palabra, lo que se estaba diciendo, pero con este juego pasaba mas tiempo buscando lo que querian decir en el diccionario que jugando. Una lastima. Lo recomiendo si sabes mucho ingles.

Como estudiante de microbiología, una de las cosas que ha aportado mi carrera a mi disfrute de la ciencia ficción ha sido jodérmelo bastante.
En este videojuego ha ocurrido así y, aunque sea una ciencia ficción suave, los métodos hacer creíbles ciertas cosas podrían haber sido mejores. De todas formas, no han estado mal del todo.
Aparte de esto, el ritmo me ha sabido entretener, la historia se ha desarrollado a un buen ritmo y algunos de los elementos alienígenas me han llamado la atención. La credibilidad ha dado algunos tumbos por el final, pero el clímax en la trama ha evitado que éste fuera decepcionante.
Los puzzles están mejor o peor integrados en según qué ocasiones, pero un punto a favor es su variedad.
Hay que hacer una recogida muy amplia de información en el transcurso del juego pero, a pesar de esto, no llega a ser abrumador o confuso.
Finalmente: si tenéis una pantalla pequeña o una vista fácil de cansar, cuidado porque hay bastantes textos muy pequeños.

Buen juego. Inmersivo, no se hace repetitivo, puzzles simples pero bien integrados en la historia. Duración adecuada 8-12 horas. Si te gustan los point and click y el espacio, te gustará.
