Istanbul: Digital Edition
The official digital adaptation of one of the best board games in history – Istanbul.
Istanbul is, without a doubt, one of the best board games to have ever been published.
Collect and trade goods! Plan ahead! Earn rubies and win the race to fortune! Become the best merchant in Istanbul! This faithful adaptation of one of the best board games of all time will turn you into a merchant on a journey from rags to riches. 🕌📦👳
So what is the game about?
Can you be the first merchant to collect a certain number of rubies?
• 🕌 Run, collect, and trade goods across the bazaar
• 👳 Take control over your assistants
• 📦 Increase your wheelbarrow capacity
• 🧿 Acquire special abilities to increase the advantage over your competitors
• 💎 Buy rubies or trade goods for them
In Istanbul, you lead a group of one merchant and his four assistants through 16 locations in the bazaar. In each such location, you can carry out a specific action. The challenge, however, is that to take action, you must move your merchant and an assistant there, then leave the assistant behind to handle all the details while you focus on larger matters. If you want to use that assistant again later, your merchant must return to that location to pick him up. Thus, you must plan ahead carefully to avoid being left with no assistants and thus unable to do anything…

Classic Euro style game with great indirect interaction from other players. It has a lot of "small games" with 16 different actions to choose from but only a few at a reachable distance. I always have turn-angst while playing this one. Good digital version. AI opponents work well.

Weird bug, not 100% repro, but you can duplicate Bonus Cards sometimes by clicking the "Bonus Cards" button, then closing that window, and repeating.
Other than that; it's a good digital implementation of the physical board game.
UPDATE: Seems like that bug has been fixed. Good job devs!

Good game. I never played it and bought it based on a positive association with Stone Age (same company?), good reviews and good sale price. Personally, I didn't find the tutorial helpful for some reason, but figured the game out on my own afterward -- it's not complicated. Goal -- get 5 rubies by delivering goods for rewards or selling goods and buying rubies. Meanwhile, other players try to get in your way as you compete for limited access to places you need to go. It's a relatively quick puzzle game.
If you like Istanbul and haven't played Stone Age, you might look into that one as well. It's a really good reproduction of the popular board game. Also Ozymandias (same company, great production) but a different kind of game (4x).

Great implementation of a great board game. The AI is really good!

Nice version -- board game implementations tend to be pretty hit-or-miss, but this one is a hit!

solid game, i dont play it much, only when i have friends over and we are pretty bored. but it still has many bugs

Solid implementation of the board game, which is always enjoyable. Decent amount to think about. There can be some elements of luck based on starting order and card draw, but nothing to get you frustrated. No complaints about the board game itself. User interface is good.
Only issue for this digital version is some of the achievements are ludicrous. The situations that would need to occur would be extremely rare. In order to achieve them, it would require farming with a group of five players in an online game (as they don't count if everyone is local). Achievements like this shouldn't be part of the game.
