Take your team to the pinnacle of the sport by managing all its day-to-day affairs with the seemingly endless array of management tools that the game offers you. Your team’s results will depend on you. Can you handle the pressure?
The new International Basketball Manager 2022 has been developed from scratch. The game’s interface and all its screens have been totally redesigned, making day-to-day management of your team far more realistic.
You will have 20 leagues from different countries at your fingertips, a total of over 330 teams and up to 5,000 players, allowing you to demonstrate your skills in managing a team at any level.
The two most important European competitions, the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and the 7Days EuroCup, both have an official presence in the game. Other licenses as acb and FEB (Spain), LNB (France), HEBA (Greece), BSL (Turkey), BNXT League (Belgium/Netherlands) and LNB (Chile) will also have official presence within the game.
GAME SIMULATION
2D mode: Follow the game minute-by-minute and take control of your players in real time, making tactical changes and assigning specific plays to a player. You will be able to follow all the incidents that occur during a match through text messages and through “badges” that allow you to see your players’ movements in offense and defense on court.
Result mode: Follow the match scoreboard at the end of each quarter. Consult the final match statistics and analyze your team’s strengths and weaknesses.
Coach intervention: Regardless of whether you play in 2D or result mode, you can decide to intervene in the key plays during the match. The action will stop at key moments during the match and you will have to make a decision as a coach. You are losing by two points and you have the last possession of the match. Do you decide to take the match into overtime or go for the win with a three-pointer? Which player is going to take the shot? You decide the level you want to assume as team coach.FEATURES
- Officially licensed by the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 7DAYS EuroCup.
- Match simulation modes: 2D and result mode with coach intervention.

Eigentlich ein ganz nettes Spiel. Es hätte mehr Tiefe gebraucht. Erinnert manchmal an frühere Sportstrategiespiele.

Sports Management games have always been my love. I love playing the old german Football Managers, enjoyed the wink and irony of Anstoß and was amazed by the depth and reality of SEGAS Football Manager. I always wandered around for a game of this kind in my second favorite sport. After a hand full of hours into the game and one and a half seasons I am pretty pleased.
International Basketball Manager 22 surely isn't done. There is room for improvement (which I will adress later) and some thing just come to easy. But all in all it has a real hoops feeling. It displays the difference to other sports and that special fast-paced and deeply connected community character, that is basketball.
Pros:
+ Quick seasons
You could take more time with all the steps, but a whole season can easily be played in one to two hours. You never miss an important decision and you really feel like you have a direct impact at everything you do. The game supports you along the way, but you never feel like you skipped something.
+ Worldwide approach
You can play over 20 leagues and really work your way into the deep markets. Scouts in Babados for talent, approach the Topscorer of the second Estonian League for a transfers. It doesnt matter. Everything is nicely simulated and (as far as I could tell in Season 2) it stays realistic in it. I'm gonna update that later one.
+ Atmosphere
There are no 3D Games, but in my opinion the game doesnt miss it. The licensed competitions, the displayed trophies, the Trophyroom for you club. It all makes you really committed and a Cup Win never gets lost. The statistics can be found for the whole game and even though it is kinda compact as a whole (there would be much more place for Club Culture and Fans) it still felt special for me, when I made my way up to League 1. The sounds of squeaking basketball shoes in the background are a nice little extra.
+ Details of Non-License
Even though not all the leagues are licensed, the game still has real City names and Club Crests that represent the real Clubs. You always know what team you are supposed to be, its not made up names like in the old Pro Evolution Soccer games. I really loved, that I found my Citys Colours and Crest in the Logo of the team, even though there was no license.
Cons:
- Editor
This should be the next big step. As I am working in basketball myself, I know how difficult it is, to get licenses from the teams and leagues. By giving the community a word in, everyone can make their game much more personal.
- Culture
There should be more engagement with fans. I love the press conferences, the Fan Mails and the Social Media part, but Fan-Mails never lead to a decision. With an RPG-like approch with decisions and maybe direct oppurtunities to talk to Fanclubs or the arena or just get a feeling of the atmosphere in your fanbase, would be great.
- Details
This is a small gimmick, but I would love to see some City Photos, some small text bubbles what happened in the Cities after you win a game, or like a weekly newspaper that gives you headlines with the most important themes around the league. You would feel more committed to the whole league and feel like a real part of a competition.
In the end I will continue to play the game and I really really enjoy it right now. Mostly because basketball is still underrepresented. This is the best game for European Basketball Fans and I hope that It just gets bigger and bigger.
Some people may be underwhelmed and feel like, that the game could be bigger, but I think it is a nice start to see what the community for basketball games apart from 2k and NBA Live looks like.
