I AM BUTTER VR

I am Butter von Path Pradipa, den Machern von "You, Calligrapher" ist ein kleiner Plattformer in dem wir ein Stück glitschiege Butter verkörpern.
I am Butter ist endlich wieder ein Spiel, dass den ernst der Zeit wiederspiegelt. Unmissverständlich deutet es auf die gesellschaftlichen Schieflagen unserer Zivilisation.
Stellt euch vor, ihr wärt ein kleines Stück Butter, dass es durch einen glücklichen Zufall schafft aus der kalten engen Umklammerung des Kühlschranks zu entkommen! Hinaus in die wärmende Freiheit der Microwelle!
I am Butter ist ein ziemlich schweres Jump and Run.
Die Schwierigkeiten liegen einmal an der Steuerung. Wir sind gezwungen mit unseren VR-Controllern zu steuern. Da wir unsere Hände in RL nicht immer an der selben Position haben, ist es manchmal etwas kniffelig unsere geliebte Butte in die gewünschte Richtung zu schubsen. Ein ordinärer Controller wäre hier sicherlich optional hilfreich.
Schwierig ist manchmal den Überblick zu behalten, wo die Butter denn nun hin soll. Es gibt nur eine festgelegte Kamera, keine Möglichkeit sich selbst per Controller zu bewegen. Außer man hat eine große Spielwiese als Roomscale zur Verfügung.
Die Proportionen im Spiel machen das freie Umherlaufen in der Umgebung aber dann auch wieder zunichte, denn in I am Butter ist alles riesig dargestellt.
Die Grafik ist für so ein sozialkritisches Projekt ausreichend. Schöner geht immer. Der Sound ist nicht der Rede wert. Es gibt chinesisches Original zu hören, dass mit englischen Untertiteln unterlegt ist. Oder es gibt gar keinen Text. Im Intro sah es so aus, als ob da Storytext fehlt.
Obwohl während des Spiels Infos, die wie Errungenschaften klangen, ist leider keine in Steam aufgeplöppt.
Das Spiel soll angeblich bisher zwei Level beinhalten. Ich habe bisher nicht mal den ersten beendet. I am Butter ist ein lustiger Zeitvertreib, der nichts kostet, außer die Butter auf dem Brot.

I am Butter is finally another game that reflects the seriousness of the times. It unmistakably points to the social imbalances of our civilisation.
Imagine that you are a small piece of butter that, by a lucky chance, manages to escape from the cold, tight grip of the fridge! Out into the warming freedom of the microwave!
I am Butter is a rather difficult jump and run.
The difficulties lie once in the controls. We are forced to steer with our VR controllers. Since we don't always have our hands in the same position in RL, it is sometimes a bit tricky to push our beloved Butte in the desired direction. An ordinary controller would certainly be optionally helpful here.
It is sometimes difficult to keep track of where the butter is supposed to go. There is only one fixed camera, no possibility to move yourself via controller. Unless you have a large playing field as a room scale.
The proportions in the game, however, make running around freely in the environment impossible, because everything in I am Butter is huge.
The graphics are sufficient for such a socially critical project. It could always be better. The sound is not worth mentioning. You can hear the Chinese original with English subtitles. Or there are no lyrics at all. In the intro, it looked as if there was no story text.
Although during the game there was info that sounded like achievements, unfortunately none is plopped up in Steam.
The game is supposed to have two levels so far. I haven't even finished the first one yet. I am Butter is a fun pastime that costs nothing except the butter on the bread.
