A cool and quite scary indie game. The advantages are definitely good and detailed level design as well as sounds and music that appeal to the senses. As for the gameplay itself, the game is interesting at the beginning and towards the end, but in the middle it becomes quite boring and repetitive. At the beginning we learn what we are facing, what to escape from, what the history is and what our goal is. Towards the end, there are a lot of stressful and scary moments. The game's soundtrack is more scary than the character chasing you, but I still had a lot of fun.

Day 11 of the October Horror Reviews: Home Sweet Home
After playing this a long time ago a couple of times, I feel like it's only right I give this the proper respect it deserves.
Home Sweet Home feels like a bit of a monster-of-the-week horror game at first glance, but is actually pretty impressive given its origin, and it's rare to find Thai horror.
This game capitalises on a few horror tropes, one of which is the "lost wife" trope. But this game feeds on religious paranoia, using the sins of the protagonist and his wife as a launchpad for evil. The game has you explore multiple areas, encountering three separate entities of escalating evil, and the final one does feel genuinely quite unsettling - even if from first glance, you might not think so.
Home Sweet Home is the opus of Yggdrazil, and as you explore the complexities of Thai myths and legends, evading omens while simultaneously pursuing them... it feels very much like you're constantly under threat, even when you're back in the titular home.
Of course, the game isn't without its flaws, and plays a little like a walking simulator at times, not to mention it requires a little bit of patience for certain sections, and the ghost girl is maybe used a bit too frequently. That said, for an undertaking like this, the game feels well-polished, especially considering there are very few bugs.
If you're looking for something short, and the origin of an interesting series of games, I'd definitely give this a try. 7/10.

Terrifying and really enjoyable. Slightly weak english voice acting but the gameplay itself more than makes up for it.

A lot better than I expected. It gets kinda tricky late in the game with the candle dousing puzzles but overall very solid game. Also the final "boss fight" was very creative.

Really good, really scary. Not the scariest since the run and hide horror genre becomes boring after beating Outlast. But the puzzles where actually good and some sections especially the final section with the ghost girl where really tense. Unfortunately not very much replay value.

Good atmosphere, interesting enemies, fantastic folklore implementation. Always love to see devs using their culture to influence their games. Boxcutter Lady does get a bit tiresome after a while as you very rarely get a break from her, but she's a relentless and intimidating enemy, and her AI is actually pretty impressive for an indie game. Had a good time overall.
