Hitman series were always great with their optional stealth action. You can play very accurate and explore ways of assasination or grab a shotgun a take everyone down, thus making the game fun for both hardcore and midcore gamers.

There should be a difference for players who already purchased HITMAN™ and HITMAN™ 2 to just pay a lower price for Hitman 3 That they don't have to pay the full price for Buy HITMAN World of Assassination, which includes the previous two games.

Fun game, that is longer available because of dumb AAA company shenanigans. Worth the play.

Game is good, but you can only play a few missions without DLC content witch makes this game very small in content
Steam User 3
Hitman 2 offers amazing stealth sandbox gameplay with huge, detailed levels and tons of freedom. Every mission can be completed in multiple creative ways, making replay ability very high. The story is forgettable and DLC can be confusing, but the core gameplay and level design are excellent. A must-play for stealth

HITMAN™ 2 on Steam is a masterclass in stealth gameplay that builds on the solid foundation laid by its predecessor, delivering an expansive and highly detailed sandbox experience where player creativity and strategic planning are at the forefront. Developed by IO Interactive, this installment refines the core elements of the series—disguises, environmental manipulation, and intricate assassination opportunities—while expanding the scope and variety of missions, locations, and tools. With a focus on freedom of approach and replayability, HITMAN™ 2 invites players to step into the shoes of Agent 47, the world’s most skilled and elusive contract killer, and craft their own unique path to success across some of the most immersive and visually stunning levels in the franchise’s history.
One of the standout features of HITMAN™ 2 is its diverse and richly designed locations. The game spans a globe-trotting itinerary that includes a sun-drenched Miami racetrack, a lush Colombian jungle, a bustling Mumbai slum, and a secretive Himalayan monastery, among others. Each location is not just a backdrop but a living, breathing ecosystem teeming with NPCs going about their routines, guarded areas with layered security measures, and countless interactive elements that can be used to the player’s advantage. The level design strikes a remarkable balance between open-ended freedom and carefully crafted challenges, encouraging experimentation and observation. The intricate details—ranging from environmental storytelling to subtle NPC behaviors—make every mission feel alive and different with each playthrough.
Gameplay in HITMAN™ 2 emphasizes player agency, allowing multiple approaches to each assassination target. Whether sneaking through shadows, blending in with disguises, setting up elaborate accidents, or using sniper rifles from afar, the game rewards creativity and patience. The game’s AI is intelligent and reactive, making stealth encounters tense and rewarding. Disguises play a critical role, with players needing to carefully select and maintain their cover identities to access restricted areas without raising suspicion. This dynamic creates a constant push-and-pull between careful planning and improvisation, where a single misstep can unravel an entire strategy. The game also introduces new tools and gadgets, such as the iconic briefcase for hiding bodies and new distractions that enrich the tactical possibilities.
Replayability is at the heart of HITMAN™ 2. Each mission is designed to be played multiple times, with myriad opportunities for different kill methods, secret pathways, and elusive collectibles like elusive targets and challenges. The game encourages exploration and mastery by unlocking new starting points, weapons, and equipment as you progress. The inclusion of the Sniper Assassin mode adds a thrilling twist, allowing players to engage in long-range, tactical eliminations either solo or cooperatively, providing a different kind of challenge that complements the main game’s stealth focus. Additionally, the ongoing live content and seasonal updates inject fresh objectives and narrative layers, keeping the community engaged long after launch.
Visually, HITMAN™ 2 is impressive, with highly detailed environments that showcase the power of the Glacier engine. The character models are realistic, and animations fluid, contributing to the immersion and believability of the world. Lighting and weather effects further enhance the atmosphere, from bright daylight in tropical settings to the fog and snow of mountain hideouts. The sound design plays an equally important role—ambient noises, footsteps, NPC chatter, and the subtle hum of tension all contribute to the feeling of a living world where every choice matters. The music dynamically adapts to the player’s actions, escalating suspense during close calls or letting the tension ease when hiding in plain sight.
While HITMAN™ 2 receives high praise, it’s not without minor drawbacks. Some players find certain missions can feel overly complex or restrictive due to the sheer density of objectives and security, which might overwhelm newcomers to the series. The game’s pace is deliberately measured, rewarding patience and precision over fast action, which may not appeal to all tastes. The episodic release model of its predecessor has been replaced with a full launch, but some content still relies on timed updates or DLC, which might fragment the experience for those seeking immediate access to all missions. However, these issues are relatively minor compared to the game’s overall polish and depth.
In conclusion, HITMAN™ 2 is a meticulously crafted stealth experience that elevates the assassination genre through its attention to detail, player freedom, and compelling world-building. It challenges players to think like a professional assassin, combining strategic planning with quick thinking in beautifully rendered locales. For fans of stealth games and tactical gameplay, it offers immense satisfaction through its layered design and endless replayability. HITMAN™ 2 not only honors the legacy of its franchise but also sets a high bar for future entries, making it a must-play for anyone who enjoys intelligent, immersive gameplay with a darkly stylish edge.

Good and fun game, but it feels like scam to remove it from the shop and put the content into the next game in the series.
