Hideout: Face your fears

Immerse yourself in this third person stealth adventure, set in a world devastated by war against an artificial intelligence that brought down society as we knew it. Play as May, a survivor living in a bunker in the mountains that must go on a quest to find medicine for her sickly brother, Jack. In her way, she will meet the robots designed by the AI to hunt down humanity, an assembly of war machines who will not hesitate to kill her on sight. Her only way to survive will be to stay in the shadows and remain undetected, using her environment as cover.

May has a tool that allows her to interact with various devices along the town: opening doors, powering generators, finding hidden information and crafting various objects that will help her along the way by distracting her enemies, revealing them or and even incapacitating them.

In this slow-paced adventure game, the bleak setting and narrative create a tense and oppressive atmosphere that enhances the experience. May’s vulnerability only adds to the feeling of helplessness against the war machines: if she is found, it’s GAME OVER. Will you help May to save her brother and find the secret hidden within this town?Key Features:

  • Navigate through three different environments: forest, town and laboratory.

  • Face five different types of enemies, each with a different function.

  • Discover the collectibles that hold a secret story.

  • Solve the enigmas of the mysterious town.

  • Create and use four different objects that interact with the enemies.

There is no point to play this game at the moment (or maybe for the easy success), Hideout is not a bad game, it's not good eather even for a EA game, it's way more like a "okay prototype" for a game, but you don't need to loose 2 hours on it, like me,wait for updates and insteed play or do something else !
I like :
Everything about the first 45 minutes
The Artistic Direction (except in the lab, it's terrible, I really feel that the devs had no idea what to do for the end)
The collectables are nice
The craft
May, the main character
I don't like :
The "story" / lore, not really bad but it's classic, nothing new or original
The design of the robots
AI is quite bad / basic, it's more "Really Dumb" than "Artificial "Intelligence", especially the boss, but the sequence with the laser is prety nice, but don't bother to hide, you can (I mean you must) just run to the objectifs and than it's
Script and "chekpoint" (more like a respawn) are sometimes broken, like for the "boss fight"*
Repetitiveness = run -> follow the yellow line -> find the button(s) -> push it / them > door open -> go trough it -> run -> follow the yellow line -> push other buttons.....
No real end, you just push a button, see red and blue lights and that's it, then the words "The End" ->
Success don't work for me :/
PS : I "recommend" this game only because it's in EA and free + to encourage the dev to improve it, Hideous need a LOT of work, improvement and changes (like I said it's not "bad")
SPOIL for the "boss fight", but dev read this
after the boss appear you need to escape him because the road is blocked by debris, but if you "die" in this "mission", when the boss appear the next time (and each time), the road in unlock (no debris) and you can skip the "escape sequence", I don't complain about it but I don't think it's normal

I haven't finished the game yet, however, it seems pretty cool, the graphics is promising, voice acting it perfect, story seems to fit the atmosphere... I'd never say I'm going to enjoy in any stealth game, but here I am.
EDIT: It feels like I'm almost at the end of the game, still no complaints, there was one bugged door which I went through and fell, not a big deal though... Still enjoying it!
EDIT 2: I've completed the game today, and I can say that I'm quite disappointed at how the game ended... Looking forward for the updates (if there will be any).

Played for a few hours. The stealth game mechanics is interesting enough, and we understand it is early access. Needs more material drops to allow for crafting traps and such. Once a generator is activated, that should be a save point, repeating the same activation multiple time is simple frustrating. Hence the reason I will now stop playing. You had me interested and that evaporated through frustration. The game could also use significantly better 3D environment modelling, for example when a piece of furniture like a dresser is almost as tall as the player character one begins to question attention to details. Still overall, good effort. The whole thing feels like a class project for a game design class. So keep learning.

A good free survival / horror. Great mechanics, not many bugs, has crafting, it does get repetitive after awhile, I did not get any of the achievements from the game for some reason but overall a great game i highly recommend it

Seems like a cool game, but I HAVE to play with the controller inverted and there's NO options to adjust that! Add invert options to the controller settings, please. <3 I will have to wait 'n play it more later when they add that option.

Loved the story line and how it was not to difficult to beat but is a little hard to beat. Can be a little annoying at times. The only thing you should add is that you can jump onto things because it took me so long at the beginning to find out that i could jump on dumpster.

Review from Steam

Played it and found it a nice enjoyable experience, a few bugs here and there but to be expected for an Early access game! keep up the good work lads! sure it could be a grand game!
