Grim Nights 2 – Realms

fun little Colony management survival worth the price. A little rough around the edges, but nothing that is gamebreaking or very annoying. If your into the art style and games like Rimworld, Banished and so on, give it a try.

With this game I need to be careful to not evaluate the possibilities, but the actual game.

It's not that easy getting into the game, but once you kind of understand how it works, you understand nearly everything in it.
It's great, if you like tower defense, pixel art, 2D and survival management.
All "workers" have their own names with personalities, perks and traits.

I think of this game as a fantastic base. Same with Grim Nights before. If everything would get more fleshed out now, one could get lost for days in this game.
Some examples: I played 2 ingame years and tower defense didn't get any more harder and not that variing in enemy units. There is no real use for close combat units for 2 reasons: longbows are strong enough, if you have the light upgrade and your units would get one-hit by a dread knight.
Caravans are somewhat useless: I travelled to 8 locations, that I got told about, but there are no "cities" or anything worthwhile to visit. Either bandits, necromancers or paladins were in my area. There should be maybe knowlegde of weapons, armours or anything to find. Maybe the art in alchemy for making these special potions or something grand to waste your money on. I sit on 8 gold coins.
The perk "Grim" is handy for clearing toxic waste, but it just is impossible to remove and granted for all your workers, since your early game can't be played with the needed down time for your them to socialise.
Animal keeping is fun, but there could be more building options: maybe a fence, to keep 'em outside, but still within farmland.
Research could be more interactive: It could be decided by the cultures of your people, what knowledge you could research or things you could craft. And with now places you visit or new people joining your hood, it would get more.
I still don't know, how to craft bandanas and I wanted them for some workers. :D

Well, as it stands now, the game is a 7/10 for me. But that holds no general validity.

i like the game, - but unfortunatelly im agree with a lot of guys here, its very taff. i almost get no visitors that wanna stay (even if i choose a map where i have a lot of events) there are a few for to can deal with visitors and let them join. but meanwhile i get always a lot of attacks, which my few villagers never cant stand against them.
please try to focus on the balance on the game. im used to play your first game, - also that is very hard to get enough large village or castle to defend some enemies. by this one its even more harder, - in general the idea its good, and i give you a dump up because i know you are alone to develop that game. but in general i have doubts that i ever will win xD

This game is, although early access already solid and very addictive and fun. I encountered some Issues with the tasks given to pawns, like crafting medicine and potions or enemies getting stuck in the earth and stuff like that but it's early so i don't give a damn, if those little issues get fixed it will be one of the best and most entertaining games i've played for a long Time !

fair price perma updates... will be nice game in the future
