Grandpa has gone mad! collect the cheese and give them to Reeze so he can feed his mouse to get the hell out of the house!
This is a horror fps game that puts you in the shoes of a random guy that has no name, who wakes up in your grandpa’s house. He has gone made and you have to move around the house to collect the cheese, and give them to your step brother Rezee to get the key to open the front door.
This is a joke game made by me, Vander in one day! I used suggestions from my Discord server and made this horrible game 😀

Grandpa's Cheese is a compact and intentionally absurd horror FPS that embraces its rough, joke-driven origins instead of trying to compete with more ambitious independent horror games. Developed by Vander & his Discord server and published by Vander, the game was created in only a single day using suggestions supplied by members of the developer's community. That unusual development process is fundamental to understanding the finished product. It is not designed as a lengthy or polished horror adventure, but as a strange playable experiment where spontaneous ideas, intentionally ridiculous humor, and simple mechanics are combined into a brief experience.
The premise immediately establishes the game's unconventional personality. The player wakes up inside Grandpa's house and discovers that Grandpa has gone mad. Escaping should theoretically be straightforward, but Grandpa's Cheese turns the situation into a deliberately nonsensical sequence of objectives. Pieces of cheese must be found throughout the house and brought to a stepbrother named Rezee. This unusual task eventually helps the player obtain the key required to unlock the front door and escape. The presence of a mouse and the importance placed on cheese push the story even further into surreal comedy, making it obvious that conventional narrative logic was never the project's primary concern.
Exploration is consequently one of the central parts of the experience. The house serves as a confined environment in which the player searches for the items required to progress while dealing with the threatening circumstances surrounding Grandpa. The first-person viewpoint complements the setting because even a deliberately silly horror game can create some tension when the player is navigating enclosed rooms without knowing exactly what will happen next. The FPS elements give the game an additional action component, although players should not expect the elaborate combat mechanics, weapon progression, enemy variety, or tactical systems found in considerably larger shooters.
One of the more entertaining qualities of Grandpa's Cheese is the contradiction between its horror setup and its ridiculous objectives. Being trapped inside the home of a seemingly deranged grandfather could easily provide the foundation for a serious survival horror game. Instead, the player is occupied with collecting cheese and dealing with bizarre characters and circumstances. This contrast prevents the experience from becoming overly serious. The horror atmosphere effectively becomes another component of the joke, with potentially threatening situations constantly competing against the absurdity of what the player is actually being asked to accomplish.
The game has been associated with numerous genres and characteristics, including FPS, shooter, arcade, survival, action, surreal, abstract, thriller, tactical, PvE, old-school, and 1990s-inspired qualities. These classifications should not be interpreted as evidence that Grandpa's Cheese contains deep systems representing every one of those genres. Its actual design is much simpler. The surreal and abstract descriptions are particularly appropriate because the game operates according to its own strange sense of humor, while its shooter and horror elements provide the basic framework through which the player experiences that absurdity.
Its one-day development period naturally results in considerable limitations. There is little opportunity for sophisticated level design, elaborate storytelling, advanced artificial intelligence, extensive environmental detail, or carefully balanced progression when an entire project is assembled within such a short period. The developer openly acknowledges the game's deliberately rough nature, so its lack of polish is hardly concealed. This transparency helps establish appropriate expectations. Players entering Grandpa's Cheese expecting a substantial horror FPS will probably be disappointed, whereas those treating it as a community-created joke that somehow became a complete playable release are much more likely to appreciate what it offers.
The simplicity of the central objective can also work both for and against the experience. Searching for cheese provides an immediately understandable goal, meaning there is little unnecessary complexity preventing players from engaging with the game. At the same time, collectible hunting is not inherently deep, and the novelty of the premise carries much of the entertainment. Once the basic joke has been understood, there are relatively few layers waiting underneath it. The game's limited scope therefore suits a short session much better than prolonged play. Its entertainment value comes from discovering its peculiar situations rather than mastering a complicated collection of mechanics.
What gives Grandpa's Cheese some genuine charm is the spontaneous nature of its creation. Knowing that suggestions from a Discord community contributed to the project explains why the game resembles a collection of amusing ideas that would normally remain jokes between friends. Instead, those suggestions were turned into an actual interactive experience. The resulting combination of a mad grandfather, a trapped protagonist, cheese collecting, Rezee, a mouse, FPS mechanics, and an escape objective feels appropriately chaotic. The lack of narrative restraint becomes part of the personality rather than merely a weakness.
The game being free to play also changes how its shortcomings should be evaluated. There is no significant financial commitment required to experience its particular brand of nonsense, making it easier to recommend as a curiosity. It is primarily a single-player experience and supports English for its interface. Its Windows requirements call for a 64-bit operating system, a quad-core processor around 2.5 GHz or faster, 8 GB of memory, and a DirectX-compatible graphics card. Those requirements establish the basic environment expected to run what remains a deliberately small-scale project.
Grandpa's Cheese is ultimately most successful when viewed as an interactive joke rather than a traditional horror FPS. It lacks the depth, polish, longevity, narrative complexity, and mechanical sophistication required to compete with substantial commercial releases, but attempting such a comparison misses much of its purpose. The game exists because a developer and community decided to transform a collection of ridiculous suggestions into something playable within a single day. That background gives its imperfections context and makes the resulting experience considerably more understandable.
There is something appealing about a game that makes virtually no attempt to disguise how ridiculous it is. Grandpa's Cheese delivers a strange mixture of horror, shooting, exploration, collectible hunting, and intentionally nonsensical comedy without pretending that any individual component is especially sophisticated. Players interested in experimental indie projects, deliberately crude humor, short horror parodies, and community-driven creations may find it surprisingly entertaining. Those expecting a substantial campaign or refined survival horror experience will find it extremely limited, but as a free and knowingly absurd experiment, it possesses enough personality to justify a playthrough.

I could feel the physical force of the bitcoin being siphoned from my computer, but I also like cheese and murderous grandparents, so I can't complain too much.
