About the Game
Goliath Depot is a door-slamming 2D arcade platformer in the style of the early 80’s. Close all doors, kick away the enemies and rack up your score in 50 classic single-screen levels inspired by tough-as-nail retro arcade platformers. Are you good enough to lift the curse of the Goliath Depot?

The Goliath Corporation
Founded in the 1970’s, the Goliath Corporation is a store chain owned by an evil maniac. On a winter storm night in 1985, George notices during his night shift that suspicious doors appeared all over the Goliath complex spawning evil products everywhere. Quickly, he tries to close them all to seal them away and alert the CEO at the Head Quarter. Can he do it before it’s too late?

I'm reviewing this based on the demo I played, I'm going to update this review after playing the full game.
I'm really loving this game so far. This sure is very niche, but if you're into old school arcade games I highly recommend it. The gameplay feels like an authentic 80s arcade game, but with a ton of quality of life upgrades you'd find in more recent games. The game is super fun, the controls are great, the music is insane good and there are many in-game achievements that keep you wanting to play more. It's also speedrun friendly which is a big plus for me.

I'm a sucker for hommages and retro inspired game so it's right up my alley. Classic feel, tight gameplay, original levels with cool mechanics, and a great soundtrack. What more do you need? Speedrunning in mind? Got it. Power ups? Yep. Co-op? Got that too. Challenge? Oui. Charming pixel art? You bet!
The game is short and sweet but you can invest hours optimizing and speedrunning, plus there's already plans for updates and surprises. Great first game from Vidvad Games, can't wait to play more.

This is one of the best modern single-screen arcade style platformers I've played, up there with Galacticon and Donut Dodo. It's a mix of Mappy, Donkey Kong, & Mario Bros and even has boss fights. Here's my gameplay:

An original arcade game with a solid gameplay loop. It introduces new interesting mechanics in each level to keep the experience fresh. It's quite short, but it has a lot of interesting challenges for people who want to make the experience last longer.
It really feels like a game from the 80's for all the good reasons (aesthetically and gameplay-wise), while feeling like a pretty unique game.
