Going Under is a satirical dungeon crawler about exploring the cursed ruins of failed tech startups. As an unpaid intern in the dystopian city of Neo-Cascadia, you’ll wield office junk as weaponry as you make your way through the offbeat procedural dungeons beneath your company campus. The Future is Wack Failed businesses no longer just cease to exist–they sink beneath the earth, and their employees are cursed to wander the halls for eternity as monsters. It’s your duty to put these monsters out of their misery and repossess their assets–so that your boss can afford a new car, or something. Not All Heroes Get Paychecks Battle through the remains of failed startups themed off of gig workers, dating sites, and cryptocurrency. Uncover the true motives of your employer, a carbonated drink startup known as Fizzle, and their parent company, a subscription box manufacturer with an army of helpful shipping drones. Make friends with your co-workers! Hire a freelance goblin! Date a slime! Invest in crypto! Set a rideshare on fire! Fight Flexibly In the dungeons of Going Under, almost everything can be used as a weapon, from laptops to brooms to body pillows. Proper weapons can be found as well, but even they can break at a moment’s notice if you aren’t careful. Playing cautiously and picking the right weapon for the situation are musts if you intend on surviving your internship.

Going under is a pretty short and good roguelike where you work as an unpaid intern for a failing company.
I think you can do better if you are looking for a roguelike to play, but if you enjoy the theme, it's definitively the main appeal.
As you may be able to see, the theme is basically one long criticism of the current working conditions for many, but it uses the usual "corporate artstyle" for it's visuals. I think the presentation is a strong point, and compliments the themes well, and both together are what . The story itself was pretty simple, nothing awful or revolutionnary.
The gameplay I'm kind of conflicted on. It's a lot like other roguelikes. Enter a series of procedurally generated rooms, kill enemies, doors unlock, proceed. Then fight a boss at the end. Unfortunately, the gameplay feels a bit more slow than other games such as enter the gungeon, where you also have a dodgeroll but can use it even as you fire your weapon. In this game, you have to be a lot more thoughtful about swinging, because you're left vulnerable the entire time. The game is still very fast paced though, so you have in many situation to take risks to kill enemies quickly before they overwhelm you.
This means that you can't come out on top of every situation without taking some damage. The game becomes more about offsetting the damage you have to take (and any from your mistakes too).
There are a lot of fun weapons to use, though many are so slow that they're practically useless without the right skills.
Mentors and pinned skills allow you to have some control over your won, which I enjoyed. A shame that they're disabled in...
Impostor mode. It seems balanced with having some level of assistance on, because winning the last rank without it seems straight up impossible. It takes away all of your crutches, which does make sense thematically, but it makes the experience a lot more random again. Also, it being DLC means it has an especially infuriating end after finishing the highest difficulty, a huge spike compared to the base game.
I mostly had fun with the characters, theme and aesthetics, and the gameplay and story were moreso just a vector to deliver those, which is fine since the overall experience was positive.

Clearly worth its price, this game can be hard for casual players but brings a lot of fun in any case.
The universe and dialogs are pretty interesting, full of humour and the visuals and musics are realy unique. I recommand at 100%
