Going the Distance
He was a hero. Your hero. Your older brother Rivus was everything you wanted to be. It was hard after he left to the army. It was harder after he died.
He wouldn’t have wanted you to mope in your room forever though. On the long journey to heal and grieve, you’ve decided to celebrate your memories with him by making paper air planes to explore locations you’ve spent the most time with him. The house you grew up, the lake where you went camping, the mou-e̵̲̰͙̰̽̎̄r̵͔͚̺̳͕͖͖̋͊̔̑̔̄͌̊̋̽̈́r̴̨͍̝͔̹̰̮̬̠̜̘̘̳͗̔̂̒̔̈́̀͂͗̓̐̄̐ͅǫ̶̨̘͓͓̤̲̠͉̠͈̬̣̫̆̚͜ȑ̷̡͚̤̖̩͉̥̣̣̗̹̪̗́̃̍̐̈́̾̎̑͌̐͐͝͝

With Zel, the robot he built for you, to help upgrade your planes, you should be able to go further and farther than ever. Whatever it takes to go the distance and lay your laments to rest.

FULL playthrough here (not on story(easy) mode once it uploads):
This game is hard, but the story is amazing and it's a ton of fun. I definitely didn't see the game going how it did, but I loved every second of the main story. I will say I believe some of the items on the 2nd stage are impossible to get (mainly pothole 7, possibly 8 I couldn't even find the thing in pothole 8 7 I just couldn't possibly get to the left far enough while falling unless there's a mechanic with the rover that's not explained. Honestly this was worth every cent of $4.99 The visuals are amazing the play is fun even though grindy as a mf and i hate the blimp stage they're so long. ACHIEVEMENTS DO NOT WORK AT ALL I beat the whole game and I'm 0 out of 35 which is a complete shame. If you want an amazing game though buy this. Now I have to go take my exam after playing this game for 13 hours straight and not studying adult choices xD. It was a struggle, but I went the distance (insert Cake song).
EDIT: The creator said he fixed most of my complaints so my review is based on a experience from a previous version of the game achievements and items should be gettable now allegedly.

A launcher game...but not a launcher game. A horror game...but not a horror game. There seems to be a bit of trickery afoot here. Going the Distance is, in essence, a launcher game. One of those tried and true bastions of flash websites in the mid-aughts. You play as a boy throwing a paper airplane to remember his brother, who is dead. After the airplane you'll be using increasingly elaborate forms of conveyance as you streak through the skies, now on a quest go get to your brothers grave, or where he died. One of those places? Things aren't made much clearer by a robot buddy that your brother built. This robot will act as your guide to the world of Going the Distance. It will commend you on good distance achievements, and give you little hints about secrets. He also occasionally glitches and starts saying some weird stuff.
The horror of Going the Distance is something under the surface, bubbling, wanting to come out. It does take a while to show itself though. Of course you'll get small hints like the robot occasionally telling you to not fall asleep. It's a so-quick-you-might-miss it moment that barely dents your focus as you try and launch a paper plane, or cardboard plane, or blimp, or...well. Don't worry too much about it. Going the Distance is a beautiful testament to a brother's love...maybe. It's hard to pin down what it is without playing it through.
I suggest you play it through.

This is a fun launcher game that is super relaxing and has nothing bad going on at all. Good gameplay, very nice story and characters as well.
I would suggest playing this game if your into horror or launcing games. Though to be aware does start slow, though it picks up super quickly in later levels.

100% reccomend. unlike other launcher games this one has a story. I love it. I legit only got it cos there was a give away of keys for it, and i thought 'oh its one of those games i play to kill time between uni lectures and never get invested in, cos usually they are kinda boring' and yet this one? im invested, love it. The story is lovely and meaningful, and yet apparantly it ramps up over time (which i look forward to). honestly, Id've happily paid more than what the devs are asking for this game, so it is 100% worth getting. 10/10

A launcher game that turns into something more. Well worth the price
