Phenomenal game, I have no other words. It's hard to come up with any negative feedback on this, since if you're into this genre and have a weakness for simple pixelart, this is exactly what you are looking for. This game gives you everything you would want in a short, quick Metroidvania. It's charming and is just the right length.
I cannot but praise the world design, you feel like you explore on your own, yet you're subtly guided in the right direction at all times, so you cannot get lost if you keep your eyes a bit open. The map is well done with hints on where to go, the upgrades are cool and there are some optional ones that do make you feel stronger, so they feel rewarding. Again, the level design is outstanding, it's impressive how naturally "levels" are included with different themes. The bosses feel great and there is a reasonable amount of them, not too many, not too few.
The only minor complaint I have is that the conclusion of the story could have been more... uplifting. However, I only got 81 % completion, so there is a chance that would change at 100 %. I might play it again and aim for completionist to see what happens.
I am a Metroidvania veteran and finished the game just shy of 3.5 hours, so it's great for a rather low-commitment brain tickle.
Again, summary: If you like Metroidvanias and like this 1-bit pixel artstyle, buy this game. It's fantastic and at this price and absolute no-brainer.
