One of my favorite game. I remember playing this for the first time on my mobile phone so I tried playing the other games by Kairosoft. It is so cute! The graphics and style is good. The game is satisfying and a bit addicting for me. I like this kind of game.
Steam User 8
I played this years ago on mobile, and it holds up well. It'a light, satisfying, and weirdly cozy. Watching your little dev team crank out buggy shovelware before eventually making actual bangers is still just as fun.
It's a straight port though, no effort to adapt the controls or UI for PC. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing going in. Still, it's easy to lose a few hours to without even realizing it.
Steam User 6
This game is an okay management sim, but it gets repetitive fast. The game play mostly revolves around grinding and doing the same tasks over and over, which can make it feel a bit dull after a while. It’s fun for a bit, but the novelty wears off quickly.
Steam User 3
I remember playing this game on mobile way way back in the day as a kid. This is one of their oldest games and first hits and came out back in 1997 apparently (you wouldn't be able to guess, I would've said 2008 if I had to guess, launched on mobile in 2010).
I love it and it is addictive, comfort food fun. Would love if they made a sequel. There's so much potential if they made a new one but the original is still super worth playing.
Kairosoft please consider Game Dev Story 2!

It's crazy that this game still holds up even in 2025. True classic, very fun, totally recommend.

This entry in the Kairosoft library was what started it all for me. Nothing quite scratches the management itch like this game does.
Sure, it doesn't have a Steam Workshop like Game Dev Tycoon. However, I find the challenge much more satiating. There's quite a bit of grinding to be done, and you probably won't nail all the achievements in one playthrough. However, I believe this adds to its replayable potential.
If you're looking for a good time killer and an excellent game to stream to your devices, look no further.
I know I've got a little over 4 hours of playtime according to Steam, but I've easily sunk over two hundred hours playing this game on mobile.
