Full Metal Furies
From the creators of Rogue Legacy comes a "true-cooperative" action RPG. FULL METAL FURIES puts an emphasis on team play with a unique combat system where everyone is important. Work together to defeat special enemies, string organics combos to deal massive damage, and save a wartorn world that is battling itself to extinction. Play on the couch or online with friends, and make it a party for up to four players! Or go solo in single-player, and show off your skills through a Pick 2 quick-switch system that retains all the nuances of multi-play. True coordination is needed to take down your foes. Enemies enter the battlefield with coloured barriers, and only allies of a similar colour can shatter them. You must revive your fallen allies. Barriers won’t break themselves! Revive bars naturally raise over time, but a helping hand never hurts.

This game is made with pure love, simple as
one of the best co op experiences ive ever had and this game goes to dirt cheap price on sales
find a group to play this with and @them over and over until you beat the game
the puzzles are peak, made me feel like being a kid with the pokemon regi rumors all over again with how little there is documented about this game
the story picked up, some lines are furiously kino, played straight and juxtaposed with the lighthearted writing and charatcers. The gameplay is incredibly rewarding and having any slight team cohesion is like overloading on dopamine, every character can have their spotlight just as teamplay lets you stomp the game
the experience of playing this with 3 others is gonna be a core memory, all time favorite, wish this came out in a time better for its popularity the game deserves

Surprisingly deep game with almost equal amounts of fighting and puzzle solving, secrets, etc, but it lets you take each at your own pace. You're not forced to solve puzzles if you just want to play a fighting game. The story was also well written and interesting. Absolute blast for a 4-man squad, we beat the game from start to finish.

A criminally overlooked gem right here. Full Metal Furies can best be described a beat-em-up bullet hell action RPG for 1-4 players (local and online!) that excels in fast-paced frenetic chaos and rewards strategy and teamwork. I honestly haven't had this much fun playing through a beat-em-up with friends since I first played Castle Crashers back in 2010!
The story is interesting and engaging, the characters are genuinely charming to the point that I can't pick a singular favorite, and the scripted dialogue (no voice over) comes across very natural and funny without even trying to be. The music is absolutely banging - as one would expect no less from A Shell In The Pit - and the game is chock full of surprises and gameplay twists to keep you on your toes. The optional puzzles to unlock additional equipment, story, and secret boss fight are well worth the effort for those who enjoy riddles and brain teasers, but be warned, they can get tough!
All that said, the only people I would NOT recommend this game for are people who get overwhelmed easily. This IS a bullet hell game, and requires focus, strategy, and if playing in co-op (which I HIGHLY recommend), teamwork and communication as well. An excellent choice for game night with friends, especially if you enjoyed Castle Crashers or TMNT: Shredder's Revenge but want something more complex that will last a while!

This game is an absolute banger for co-op fans. I've purchased this game twice (on PC & Switch), spending 60+ hours on Switch. My partner and I LOVE this game as it offers a unique brawler experience that's fun, engaging and challenging. We tend to stick to our strengths in game meaning she's melee heavy and disrupts the battlefield while I focus on targeted damage and hit stuns. Both of us do our fair share of reviving as the game finds ways of killing the both of us. We do have different skill levels with gaming (she's more casual & I like to be punished) and we find the game balances it well.
We've already completed the the first campaign and are now in the middle of the new game+. It's definitely much more challenging and offers a fresh take as you have everything unlocked! Which leads to my favourite part about the game, each character has access to 4 difference items for each of the action buttons. There is also a skill tree that you an put points into as you level up. From our experience, EVERY item is viable after you take the time to build competency. For example, I found the air crit talents on the sniper to be useless as they were difficult to land until I spent 5+ hours on the air crit tech. Now she's my preferred class in NG+. All characters have synergies with one another leading to interesting build discussions and strategy discovery.
The story is interesting and feels stronger the second time around. There are riddles and secrets to unlock in the game. Some are MUCH much harder than others - we opted to use the internet to help us (thank you so much to the dedicated community members). I don't have the brain power and literacy skills to solve the riddles.
To the Developement Team at Cellar Door Games - THANK YOU for creating a unique and challenging experience - I hope to see a DLC or sequel

This game is a real gem that went completely unnoticed.
Extremely fun and satisfying co-op beat 'em up with 4 completely different characters you can chose from (looking at you Castle Crashers, with your 50 copy-pasted playable characters), each with their unique tech tree and equipments, that you can mix and match to change completely the way you play the character.
The game also encourages the player to change equipment, by giving small stats increase, this way you are more incentivized to experiment and not stick to the same build for the entire game.
Many people dislike the colored shields that the enemies get, that must be destroyed by a specific character. I find this mechanic perfect for single player, so you are forced to swap characters, and it also works great in two players. I imagine that if you are in 4 players and the enemies keep changing shield color it can be become annoying tho. (There is a mod to remove the shields if you don't like them).
A negative thing for pretty much anyone are rosetta stones, the "riddles" you have to complete to get the true ending. Some are extremely hard to understand, I have at least three playthrough and I still have to search on the internet the solution for some of them. There are guides on steam that directly show all the codes, but even by having already the solution you still have to manually input them, and it's boring and time consuming.
A great positive point is that this game has a perfectly working online co-op, a thing that many beat 'em ups still refuse to implement in 2025. It also has split screen if that's your jam.

Great side scroller with secrets! Hope more people hop on this one. Ran through the game with one other player. Groups of 2+ seem to be a great way to play through it!

Wow! A straight-over-the-plate, couch co-op DREAM. Responsive and dynamic game feel. Challenging but fair difficulty. My roommate and I lost an entire day the first time we booted this up. Huge "just one more run" energy coming off this potato. And way better writing than is required that had us laughing out loud. Fun and dynamic leveling system. I could go on. Can't believe I slept on this for as long as I did. Great game!!
