Friday the 13th: The Game is a third-person horror, survival game where players take on the role of a teen counselor, or for the first time ever, Jason Voorhees. You and six other unlucky souls will do everything possible to escape and survive while the most well-known killer in the world tracks you down and brutally slaughters you. Friday the 13th: The Game will strive to give every single player the tools to survive, escape or even try to take down the man who cannot be killed. Each and every gameplay session will give you an entirely new chance to prove if you have what it takes not only to survive, but to best the most prolific killer in cinema history, a slasher with more kills than any of his rivals! Meanwhile, Jason will be given an array of abilities to track, hunt and kill his prey. Stalk from the shadows, scare your targets and kill them when the time is right in as brutal a fashion as you can imagine.

i played this 640+ hours
it has awful controls
repetitive gameplay
bad facial animations
unbalanced combat
jason can teleport and shift around which is not realistic
counselors are overpowered specially when they gang up on jason
a lot of sadist traumatized toxic people
a lot of cheaters
buggy as hell
but at the end of the day
i loved every second of it
not because of the gameplay
but because of the people i met
it was more of a social game then a slasher game to me
and i made a lot of great friends along the way in this game
it's sad that it has come to this
but at least i'll still have the memories i made this game
thank you to all the non-toxic people who just wanted to have fun :)

This is more of a goodbye than a review...
I really am sad to see this game go. You see, I eagerly kept up with the news for this game, I bought every single piece of paid DLC when they released, actively engaged with the community and stayed with the game even when it started to go downhill. I've put over 1,000 hours into this game on PS4, but I never got the platinum because apparently I didn't play the thousand required matches as Jason in all that time...
However, the memories I've been able to make with this game are something I'll remember very fondly over the years. 2017 summer nights spent with this game were the best. Some of my best friends were people I got to meet through this game whom I still talk to to this day. Now that I got the game on PC, I'll probably check it out one last time. After that I'll keep showing off this game on my profile because I wanted to show support to the devs one last time.
This game brought me an online experience no game to this day has been able to top, and for that I cannot thank IllFonic enough for this game.

Love the game, but hate the hackers. Anyone wanna make a group with people that actually plays the game as it should be played? That way we can play like old times without the messed up servers...

A great game cut short by unfortunate circumstance. In its peak this was easily one of the best slasher based games available and allowed for endless funny moments. Sad to see its getting shut down at the end of 2024 but glad to have experienced what it once was. Hats off to Gun Media for all they did for the game.

Wanna know WHY this game was so much better than dbd and all the other games in this genre dies off so much faster than this? Because this game prioritised the Fun and the social element. Even though you go in and do the same thing every game if you play it with a funny group then this game is just easily the best online experience PERIOD. I'm gutted that this game is offically dead. Ive been with this game from the start and its sad to see it go but STILL TO THIS DAY it is more fun to play than DBD.
Havent seen any game able to bring people together since GMOD. I want so badly for this game to return
