In Fragments of Him you experience the lives of four people connected by love and a tragic accident. You walk alongside Will on his last morning and discover the meaning of his final thoughts. With Mary, Will’s grandmother, you learn about his childhood, their conflict, and how they ultimately reconciled some of their differences. Sarah was Will’s girlfriend and first love. She tells us how she found a deeper understanding of herself during their time together. And finally, Harry is Will’s partner when the accident happens. Can Harry ever accept the loss?

Will dies in a car accident and the people in his life put together the “fragments of him” via recalling memories.
Information
• POV changes a lot: Will, his grandmother, his ex-girlfriend, and his current partner.
Praises
• Point-and-click storytelling sets the tone for certain thoughts and actions.
• The presentation of Will’s partner’s grief was well done enough that I got a bit teary-eyed.
• Will’s queerphobic grandmother admits she was wrong, so there’s some satisfaction in that.
• Tidbits regarding life in England. The player even gets to see a simulation of what it’s like to drive on the left side of the road.
Complaints
• For some reason, Will’s parents aren’t included in recalling memories of him, even though nothing in the story indicated that they weren’t still around.
• Ridiculous platitudes. “Life isn’t cruel because it gave us Will in the first place.” Like, no, it can be both. You can be grateful to have known someone at all and resent that they were taken away from you. Life is cruel in that death is completely arbitrary.
At first I thought this might be an obvious queers-can’t-be-happy story, but it really isn’t about that. Yeah, Will is queer and is romantically with a man at the time of his death, but I feel like the story is more about dealing with grief than anything else. It isn’t an enraged queerphobe that kills Will, it’s just a random car accident. One could claim that the story is coded to make queers believe that they can’t be happy, but I don’t think that’s the devs’ intentions.
Overall, I liked it. It’s short, but it gets an emotional narrative across nonetheless. I don’t recommend it to anyone that’s particularly sensitive to grief though, especially if they’ve been in a similar situation.

It's a great story with good soundtrack managing to capture in a short amount a variety of topics , such as struggling and learning to deal with the loss of someone, learning to live with no regrets and feeling remorse. The main takeaway here is how much a person can change your life and that no matter what happens you should learn to cherish those memories you both share

A beautifully written VISUAL NOVEL told from the point of view of four characters. If you're heading in looking to play a game you'd be disappointed, but if you're seeking a melancholic queer story in a world you can walk around in, taking in the journey at your own pace, then I'm sure you'd love it.
