Fortix 2 (2011) is a basic, yet charming arcade game centered around a simple coloring mechanic. The goal is to capture territory by drawing lines and "coloring in" sections of the map, a concept that is easy to explain but somehow addictive.
The game is spiced up with various fantasy elements, placing it within the classic medieval genre. You will encounter different obstacles and engaging mechanics, such as dragons that constantly patrol and attempt to stop your progress along with other familiar fantasy foes.
Visually the game embraces minimalism; the music and sound design are simple and effective, while the visual design is quite basic, remindful of classic flash games.
At its core Fortix 2 is a very simple and meditative game, it is a surprisingly pleasant project that requires focus and patience; making it a good entry point for introducing a child to basic video games and arcade concepts.

These territory capture games are pretty fun and this one has a fun twist on the genre.

Fortix 2 is a great arcade game iterating on that old concept of drawing lines on a map in order to capture successively greater territory. There's buildings that will erase your gains if you try to enclose them, so you need to avoid them. There's a good number of enemies and flying projectiles that will destroy the player character, but fortunately they bounce off the edges of territory you've already claimed.
There's a Fortix 1, but if you're already familiar the puzzle concept, may as well start here. The art is nice in general and things flow smoothly. The main enemy Xitorf is also ridiculously huge compared to the protagonist, so I can see why they decided to go with this nonstandard approach rather than facing him in direct combat.

Simple concept and will be fun for anyone that likes Qix games. I even kinda like the Flash looking graphics.
