In the game 《Folding Space》, you will pilot a spaceship in a random hexagonal universe and find your way home.
But this journey is not safe. Collect cards, upgrade equipment, and recruit new crew members to complete the challenge.
If it fails, please try again.Because ,it’s a whole new adventure . This is the charm of “Folding Space”.
Creatively, Folding Space is a bit like a combination of《Faster Than Light》and 《Slay the Spire》.
The gameplay is so unique, The developer will be addicted in it,even after playing hundreds times.Key Features
- Randomized Galaxy – Each play-through will feature different enemies, events, and results to your decisions. There is also a secret space that requires special item to enter.
- Strategic Gameplay – Players need to make difficult choices between using equipment and cards.
- Multiracial crew – Depending on the deck and equipment, players need to upgrade and train different crew.
- No Second Chances! – Permadeath means when you die, there’s no coming back. The constant threat of defeat adds importance and tension to every action

UPDATED VERSION (March 2020)
+
Game has changed name from Starship Helmet, but same card style battles + campaign. No tutorial but clearer translations, so expect to jab at it for the first couple of games, it becomes obvious soon. Enjoyable.
Improved balance, campaign and new special weapons, plus crew that can improve cards.
-
At first glance the new graphics look worse.
Still a couple of Chinese parts. Easy to guess the meanings by jabbing at them.
UPDATED VERSION (Nov 2019)
++
Same excellent card based play but...
Much better campaign map than original. Now a hex style rather than forked.
Bizarre alien helmet option, lol, lick them to death!
(old review)
Card play based game. Learned bit by getting killed many games.
+
Careful strategy needed to get through limited choice of space routes. Big boss type space station at end of each level.
Use the right weapon / shield cards needs thought. Don't waste missiles (limited ammo) on targets if lasers work fine.
Difficult choices on upgrade or repair at some stations. Upgrade may improve defence / attack, but you need to fix the hull damage to survive.
Nice graphics. Stable - no game crashes.
-
No tutorial (English). At least one card still in Japanese . Some trivial spelling errors.
As I'm not a card game player, what some cards mean is obscure. Trading: when visiting some planets there may be a storyline, perhaps? I can't tell...
Game enjoyable, so hopefully a more complete English version will come in updates.

Nice little rogue like game - nothing too serious but quite well made.
Needs a little work but perfectly playable - once you work out that to move you have to click your target.
Good English translation - though not in all places so somethings are not clear as to what they do.
But good little game from a solo dev!
** Update **
New version today has added a much simpler discovery mechanism and a Hex grid. Plays very well and the movement of AI ships is a lot more interesting. Love the worm holes and the optional consequences.

This is actually pretty fun, some stuff feels rough around the edges but its actually a great idea and plays pretty well! Looking forward to more ships and cards. at this price i give it a solid 8/10 because its so unique.

I've got the 1st round clear.
Good job, actually it is better than I expected.
The group making this game should then continue to modify the details to make it better.
