Fish Game is the de-fin-itive freshwater fishkeeping sim experience made *for* enthusiasts *by* enthusiasts. Featuring fish with personalities and dynamic relationships, water quality modeling, plants that grow and much more! Made with support from our pals “Smarter Every Day”!
A quick, but important note: Fish Game was supposed to be Early Access, but we messed up the release. However: the game is still good, and will only get better. More info in our News section.
Feature list:
- Individual fish have unique personalities and behaviors, leading to infinite, evolving relationships! Get to know your fish over time as you watch them grow & interact!
- Observe a wide variety of behaviors. Learn on the fly which fish get along and which do not. You’ll see schooling, chasing, fighting, and even carnivorous behavior amongst a sea of other activities.
- 11 types of food and a comprehensive hunger & food systems; each fish species has preferences along a matrix of grazing, opportunist & predator; herbivore, omnivore & carnivore. Fish will even scavenge on dead tank mates!
- Holy carp! Over 50 species of fish and growing, propagating aquatic plants for you to adopt and raise!
- Stay busy tinkering, scaping & managing, or relax with “No Death Mode”. Put a living, breathing aquarium on your TV with Steam Link!
- Unlock new content and mechanics via fishkeeper XP! Upgrade Tanks from 7 to 3000(!!!) gallons, upgrade shops for rarer critters, and more.

I'm a bit divided on this game. I thought this would be the perfect game for me as I love both aquariums and simulation games, but I'm afraid it's almost too relaxing for me... I haven't found a ton of challenges yet and I'm missing some kind of difficulty level or progression if you will - I would love for there to be some sort of collection mechanic, with an aquadex or something to tell you which fish you have already, in what colors etc. In general I feel like there are quite a few features that are still missing (for me personally). And maybe I'm not playing chaotically enough lmao but i havent't really encountered a ton of problems within the tanks - obviously you need to change the water, feed the fish and from time to time they get ill - but that's kind of it. I know the devs are working on implementing a breeding mechanic which sounds amazing and i might check back in once that's in the game, but for now I feel like I've played for a few hours and seen most of the game. If you're into super relaxing games, beautiful aquascapes etc this might be the game for you! If you're looking for something more challenging, then maybe not.
