First Cut: Samurai Duel
A high-intensity arcade sword-fighting game where every strike is lethal. Slash, clash, parry, dodge and watch limbs fly in the atmosphere of historical feudal Japan. Choose your move carefully – the first cut is also the last.
A refined and intuitive fighting system – Aim your sword to block attacks and strike around your opponent’s guard. Parry their attacks with your own, dodge to close the distance, and interrupt them with a well-timed shove. It takes a minute to learn, and a lifetime to master.
Customize your fighter – An array of different options to wear. Choose and colour each piece separately to make each character your own.
Dueling with deadly results – Send heads and limbs flying as blood rains down and stains the characters and environment. Chop your opponent to pieces, or equip a wooden sword instead for a little mercy and possibly a concussion.
Duel your friends in local multiplayer, fight custom AI opponents, try to stay alive in Survival mode, or hunt down enemies in the Scenario mode campaign.
Bonus modes – Unlock laser swords, custom blood, floating weapons, and more.

Das Game ist für Freunde des Splatter Genres ein wahres Fest der Schmoderei und der Blutfontänen. Was hier an virtuellem Pixel Blut herumspritzt ist erstklassig. Das Gameplay ist schön Arcadig und macht süchtig und dank Split Screen kann man auch mit Freunden zocken. Wär also auf Literweise Blut und abgetrennte Gliedmaßen steht und sich mit Pixel Optik anfreunden kann der wird hier vor allem zusammen mit Kumpels im Split Screen ganz viel Spaß haben.

Samurai Fans sollten definitiv zuschlagen.
Viele Maps, einige Spiel-Modi, sogar eine Art Story-Mode ist drin.
Character-Creator ist ebenfalls drin. Konnte meinen Ronin aus Way of the Samurai 4 nachbauen.
Die Kämpfe sind wie häufig in solchen Games am Anfang frustrierend. Habe 5 Duel-Matches gemacht und nicht eine Runde gewonnen. Dann hatte ich die Mechaniken drinne und ich konnte Spaß am Splatterfest haben.
Auch die Gewalt hat einen Gameplay-Sinn denn du kannst die Gegner nicht nur auf viele verschiedene Arten aufschlitzen und zerhäckseln, sondern auch das spritzende Blut als Waffe einsetzen um andere Gegner kurzzeitig zu blenden. Großartig.
Samurai-Fans haben mit diesem Spiel eine schöne Ablenkung während des Wartens auf die PC-Versionen von Ghost of Tsushima oder Rise of the Ronin (falls letzteres Gut ist)

Hammergeil, retro-atmosphärisch aber bockschwer. Es heißt nicht umsonst First Cut, und der entscheidet in der Regel. Frustrierend und fordernd, dafür kann man lange spielen.
