First Cut: Samurai Duel
A high-intensity arcade sword-fighting game where every strike is lethal. Slash, clash, parry, dodge and watch limbs fly in the atmosphere of historical feudal Japan. Choose your move carefully – the first cut is also the last.
A refined and intuitive fighting system – Aim your sword to block attacks and strike around your opponent’s guard. Parry their attacks with your own, dodge to close the distance, and interrupt them with a well-timed shove. It takes a minute to learn, and a lifetime to master.
Customize your fighter – An array of different options to wear. Choose and colour each piece separately to make each character your own.
Dueling with deadly results – Send heads and limbs flying as blood rains down and stains the characters and environment. Chop your opponent to pieces, or equip a wooden sword instead for a little mercy and possibly a concussion.
Duel your friends in local multiplayer, fight custom AI opponents, try to stay alive in Survival mode, or hunt down enemies in the Scenario mode campaign.
Bonus modes – Unlock laser swords, custom blood, floating weapons, and more.

Its hard to learn and even harder to master. You need to get into the mechs yourself as there are barely any helpful tutorials out there since the game is pretty niche. But trust me on this, once you get good, its dopamine pure. So much fun with every session. And the ambience... ♥♥♥♥ yes. The whole game is so beautiful and cinematic and since you need to actually be good to win games and feel badass, it even feels genuinely rewarding to make a nice clean kill on yabai or higher since you earned it. Its hard to explain. There are many other beautiful games out there with great scenery that require a lot less skill, which is fine. But for me personally, it just adds sm to the ambience and cinema to just know im actually good at this game, which you fairly need to be to enjoy the game at all. Sorry for repeating that so often, but its an important thing to mention as ive seen many others here rating it badly for that reason only. The only thing i do think is kinda unfair is the bots ai. They r sometimes able to just hit faster after a clash, thats why people report that its impossible to win by gambling to click again after clashing with their opponent. I can only say one thing: Once you get good, you wont need to gamble anymore. And since the bot being faster than the player has been in the game for so long now, i dont think its ever getting fixed or it was an intended feature all along. But it doesnt matter once you figure out the tech. Overall, great game, its just sad that its not very popular. Also has a lot of online potential.
